Transform your iPhone into a customizable display and monitoring system. DashCommand puts you in control - Monitor and data log engine and vehicle performance, fuel economy, and instantly read and clear troublesome check engine lights, all with the easy to use DashCommand app.

This app also features a professional skidpad showing lateral and accel/braking Gs with min/max indicators, a race track that visually maps out your location, acceleration and braking as you drive laps around the track, an inclinometer that shows rolling angle and vehicle pitch for off-roading, and the ability to data log, record and playback log files showing OBD-II and acceleration data.

Purchased this app for an E92 335D. 

Firstly you need a compatible ODB reader. All of these are £150+!

Then it does not recognise the PID’s for the car!

To everybody: This app really works with any vehicle, but not with the first obd2 Japanese cars 1998-2003 which were using a strange opening string to activate  the communication.
Also for ios users, it works on WIFI dongles 100%, and u must care that no other device is trying to connect to the dongle at the same time, happened to me that my iphone and ipad wanted to connect to the dongle creating interferences to each other, 
The live data really makes easy to visualise and deeply diagnose any car, be aware not to use a saved vehicle with another model as the sensor codes would be different and thereafter reads data uncorrectly, every car’s model must have its own new connection.
I would be immensely  great if the programmer could add this to the app:
1. in gauges, when retrieving a  .xml  page, been able to see the list of all saved pages.
2. A digital display, alone, like that one inside the round dial gauge, would really appreciated !!!
3. Search from saved car’s models by registration plate or by name or make model year.

This is a useful little app, which can help diagnose problems and delete fault codes. What it can't do yet is adjust values and store the new ones in the vehicle ecu, or program electronic keys... More to come in development? Please?

### ***** "Does what it’s supposed to."
I’ve been using this app for years to diagnose OBD issues. I haven’t found a situation or car where it hasn’t worked, and I’ve used it on Jaguar X Type and XKR, Skoda Fabia, Kia Sorento, Ford Fiesta and Ranger, as well as checking various friends cars. 
It takes a while to explore the features of the app and it certainly isn’t idiot proof, as some of the previous reviews prove.

I attempted to use this app in the past and connection to the OBD-II device (which is compatible) is intermittent. Forward a couple years I figured I’d give it another shot thinking they corrected the app and still the same problem. Even when the device by miracle connects long enough to the Dashboard or gauges nothing works. The only thing it has managed to do is display my chassis vin number however it fails to show any other parameters whatsoever as if it’s dead. It’s sad because other OBD-II scanners that’s are free work fine despite the not so appealing interface so why should an advanced paid for application be so problematic. Disappointed does come close to how fed up I am with this app!

Owning an old GM era Saab comes with a lot of issues, like crap parts and reliability problems.
I’ve had an issue where I get the usual ‘Limited Performance’ warning and lose turbo boost etc.
Whilst I haven’t gotten fully to the source of this (and no app has been much use here) I have found that Dash Command is the only app I’ve tried, that could genuinely reset this error, allowing me to get my boost and usual performance back.

Car Scanner, EOBD Facile and OBD2 Expert are just some of the apps that can’t even find an error!!! And certainly won’t reset what I need.
So until I ditch the car (shortly) I’ll keep resetting my engine management whilst on the go using this app.

Had an engine light on my X5. Bought a cheap ELM327 Wi-Fi dongle off fleabay to look into it. It came with free software which didn’t work. I tried three other apps, two of them paid for and all three found the code and gave the option to clear it. Whilst they all said it was cleared the light was still on. Downloaded Dash Command without much hope (yet another tenner!) and hey presto! It actually worked! Found the code, I clicked on clear and it put the light out. Which has since stayed out. So, whilst I can only comment on its suitability with BMW I can genuinely recommend this app. Just wish I hadn’t wasted a total of £26 on the other apps and tried this first.
