DataMan Reviews

Subscriptions for WIDGETS? Really?

adidasthottie on

If an app that requires virtually zero outside resources costs a dollar, it shouldn’t HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION TO USE BASIC FEATURES, LIKE DIFFERENT WIDGET SIZES. I’d pay for a subscription if it cost the develop an obvious amount of money to maintain over time, but seriously? I gave you money so I can have the privilege of giving you more money over time?

Not accurate

Like the review by Vincent _apple, also find the app reporting inaccurately, specifically reporting WAY higher usage than what is in seen in my carrier app. Background refresh is on. This wasn’t like this before, started maybe a few months ago…

Not accurate

The data usage monitor is not accurate and it’s always off compared to carrier usage page. Cannot rely on it.

Subscriptions, for a paid app, really?

Luke 2222 on

DO NOT BUY THIS APP IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO YOU (Unless you’re ok with a subscription of 1.29 MONTHLY) You have a plan that does not reset on a calendar month You Have data that rolls over on a monthly basis Pretty much useless to me. The fact that there is a subscription isn’t displayed anywhere prominently in the App Store page isn’t great either

Subscription app

Subscription app are one thing, but i hate paying to find out that i need to pay more to get what i need. I’m on a daily cap plan. This app only supports monthly plans, unless you subscribe. That fine if you decide to go this way but don’t make people pay to find out they need to pay to use it. Seems unethical to me.

The developer rips you off

I purchased this app years ago, then a one time fee to unlock everything within the app. And now it doesn’t work properly and the developer wants a monthly subscription. Your app is basic, be realistic. It’s not worth a subscription

Excellent app

Dev is a Crook

Update: The devs response is a load of crap! Restoring purchases does not work. I don’t have access to any of the previous features I paid extra for. Also the supposedly new PRO features aren’t new at all. You can go back in the app update history to see that 3 years ago he added the same features he claims are new. I previously paid for the option to export, view daily stats, rollover data and the theme packs. Still have the email receipts. None of those features work now that he changed to a subscription. Original: This guy has screwed over existing users time after time. First he had a paid version and a free version of his app. Next he removed the paid version and made users buy those same features in the free version of the app. Now he’s removed those paid features from the free version and turned it into a subscription based model so he can continue taking money from his users indefinitely. Within a year or two he’ll be raising prices of his subscription service, I guarantee it. Avoid if you don’t want to line this guy’s pockets.

Another SAAS that isn’t SAAS

Frantumn on

We should not have to pay a subscription for an additional widget. Developers like this need to stop thinking that everything is a subscription service. Charge me once so that I can use smaller widgets but stop thinking you deserve a monthly payment from me. The features I want could be a “premium” at a one-time cost, but this isn’t a service you’re providing.

Works well but missing options

Thomas_Challis on

I have an unlimited plan and it doesn’t have an option for unlimited plans. Could be nice to add that as an option, with alerts for using the allotted fast data.
