Unter dem Motto Stop and Listen bringt es Mensch und Natur auf kreative Art und Weise wieder zusammen: Menschen weltweit nehmen sich morgens eine Minute Zeit, um dem Vogelkonzert in ihrer Umgebung zuzuhören, es aufzunehmen und in eine globale Datenbank hochzuladen. Diese Daten werden Kunst und Wissenschaft zur Verfügung gestellt, um daraus etwa Erkenntnisse zum Erhalt der Artenvielfalt zu gewinnen. Mit der Dawn-Chorus-App können die User*innen ihre Aufnahme ganz einfach und schnell durchführen. Und sie lernen dabei auch mehr über Vogelstimmen und können ihrer Kreativität freien Lauf lassen – etwa mit dem Medienkunstfeature "Sonic Feather", das Bewegung und Ton in Kunst verwandelt. Die Daten der App werden nur in anonymer Form und nur für wissenschaftliche und künstlerische Zwecke genutzt. Die App funktioniert auch offline; dann werden die Daten lokal auf dem Smartphone gespeichert und können später hochgeladen werden. Dawn Chorus wurde 2020 als Citizen-Science- und Arts-Projekt von BIOTOPIA - Naturkundemuseum Bayern (München) und der Stiftung Kunst und Natur (Nantesbuch) in Zusammenarbeit mit der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft ins Leben gerufen, und auch der Landesbund für Vogelschutz in Bayern (LBV) ist als Partner dabei. Die verlangten Aufnahmen waren schnell gemacht. Naja, okay, Habitat kann man nicht so leicht automatisieren. Also Meta-Daten ausgefüllt. Nächster Schritt: einreichen. Mit Nutzer Account anmelden. Hä? Ich immer noch am Seeufer, morgens um sieben. Naja, okay, Benutzername: xxx. Meldung: es gibt ein Problem. Hä? Naja, vielleicht geht es ja doch durch, wenn ich jetzt das Passwort eingeben: xxx. Meldung: es gibt ein Problem. Hä? Ach, da kommen noch fünf Zeilen mit Passwort-Vorgaben, welche Zeichen ich benutzen darf, welche ich benutzen muss und welche nicht. Sorry Leute, das ist mir zu kompliziert. App gelöscht. Ich weiß wie ein Geld später singt, ich weiß wann und wo ich ihn beobachtet habe.
