Wizards of the Coast and Playdek present the award-winning Dungeons & Dragons board game Lords of Waterdeep!
Also available: The award-winning Dungeons & Dragons® expansions for Lords of Waterdeep – Scoundrels of Skullport and Undermountain!
Welcome to Waterdeep, the City of Splendors! A city run by a secret society of masked Lords who rule with shady back-door dealings and unmatched political power. In Lords of Waterdeep players will play as one of these masked Lords and will need to recruit adventurers to go out and complete quests for them. The more quests they complete, the more control and influence they have over the city.
Players can expand the city by purchasing buildings that will open up new opportunities within the city walls. Intrigue cards can be used to help the player and may also either help or hinder their fellow Lords in their quest to become the supreme ruler of Waterdeep!
Lords of Waterdeep is a turn-based strategy game played in 8 rounds and can be played against AI or with up to 5 human players. Players take turns assigning their agents to do their bidding, whether it is to recruit new adventurers to their tavern or purchase a new building for the city. Points and resources are gained by completing quests, playing Intrigue cards, constructing new buildings or having other players utilize the buildings you have constructed. At the end of the 8 rounds bonus points are awarded and the player with the most points at the end wins the game.

D&D Lords of Waterdeep Reviews
Bad UI
The underlying board game is good.
The UI of this app is not good. It does not scale well for small screens; things are hard to read. There is no portrait mode. Grabbing items to drag them is unresponsive, so you need to tap about three times, or tap and hold your finger on the pawn for about 3 seconds before the game registers. Dragging objects should not be required; a simple two-tap interface would be better for phones. Sometimes, items will get launched off the screen, and then you just have to wait a literal minute for it to wander back and settle on the space you selected, unable to do anything in the meantime.
We need the old version back
Playdek, admit it. You screwed up.
In your eagerness to make this a cross platform app, you ruined a great app and gave everyone this mediocre mess.
I went to the online play, and it’s absolutely empty. Not a single game up. That should tel you something. When no one is playing your game online, it’s because it’s terrible.
In the old days with the first version, there were lots of online games ongoing. It was never difficult to find one.
Bring back “Lords of Waterdeep - Classic edition”. Just bring it back!

Quick action to fix AI isssue
I submitted a review on the previous update for 1 star as the AI decision time was taking way to long making games against it take an unbearably long time. Within 2 weeks a new update was released fixing the issue. This brought the game back up to the top of my go to games and made me a happy customer again!
Great game
Like new interface for iPad. Disappointed to have expansions I paid for disappear. Will not repurchase them.
Overall good game but playtek needs to correct lost expansions, restore purchase does not solve problem.
Update fail
Since the update, not only is the game PAINFULLY slow on single player, but I also lost the expansions. Which means I need to buy them AGAIN. Avoid this game until they fix it.
Terribly long lag since update
Long long lagging when playing against AI since update 2 days ago. AI opponents take forever to complete their turn.??
Bug issues
This app worked and now it doesn’t. Can’t even start an off line game. I’d like my money back if it won’t work…
No longer crashing
The September 2020 update had made the game unstable for a while, but after reinstalling and rebooting it seems to be stable again and is back to being my favourite iOS game.
Still not playable
None of the recent updates have made this game playable: it lags, the UI is a mess, the inscriptions are too small to read.
This game used to be so good, it’s so sad to see what was made of it :(
Great game, weak UI
As many have already noted, the UI needs some work. Playing this game is a chore because the layout makes it hard to see or find the info you need.
