What is deedum?
deedum is not a Web browser, but rather a Gemini client that enables you to browse the Geminispace (i.e. the World Wide Gemini). deedum is to Gemini what Firefox is to the Web.

What is Gemini?
Gemini is a new, collaboratively designed internet protocol, which explores the space in between Gopher and the Web, striving to address (perceived) limitations of one while avoiding the (undeniable) pitfalls of the other.
Gemini:
- Is heavier than Gopher.
- Is lighter than the Web.
- Will not replace either.
- Strives for maximum power to weight ratio.
- Takes user privacy very seriously.

### ***** "👾 Excellent app for the Gemini protocol, give it a go 👾"
This is a smooth and straightforward app to use to view websites (“capsules”) on the Gemini protocol. 

Gemini is an alternative internet: it’s minimalist (text only) and lightweight. There are no tracking cookies, no surveillance analytics. It’s just people putting up their own weird little sites and stories and experiments up, to share them, and talking with one another.

If you haven’t taken a look at gemini:// sites yet, download this app and follow the rabbit hole. If you allow yourself time to explore - it may take a tiny bit longer than you are currently used to - you will find something different, small / niche, and fun. 

You can even easily find servers to host your own Gemini capsule for free. And you will eventually want to, if you stick with this community for a few days, and truly permit yourself time to wander. 

In a nutshell:

• Gemini is a reminder of what the internet once aspired to be, in what’s now a distant memory fading rapidly like an afterimage of the flash from the bulb of a polaroid camera. 

• The developer of this app is the friend who snapped your picture, waving the fresh print like a fan, back and forth, while it develops. Smiling in warmth and anticipation, eager to see how it came out. 

• This app is the camera, and your friend is, right now as you read this, handing it over to you - for free, no cost, no strings attached. Just a little, but special, gift. From one human to another.
