I am testing DeepSeek as an alternative to Open AI o4. So far the best feature is price. One feature open AI has over DeepSeek is its performance. The performance is much better on AI than DeepSeek. This means prompts are much faster with open AI than DeepSeek. However, I can live with the slowness of DeepSeek, considering it costs nothing. Using DeepSeek on an iPad is terrible. It was designed for an iPhone in vertical orientation. The horizontal iPad screen isn’t utilised at all. This makes multitasking extremely difficult as there is no split screen support. DeepSeek also lacks a memory function, so you can’t work on the same project over multiple sessions. I would say if the user interface were optimistic for iPad, it would be much more user-friendly and I probably cancel my subscription for open AI.
