It’s expensive if you want to be one of the best players in the game with an even roster of characters near their fullest potential, but even if you’re just a casual player, there’s a lot to love! I’ve logged in every day since launch and the game really feels like something fresh for Destiny, which is a franchise I played regularly for almost ten years before dropping off. Four stars only because I don’t mind spending, but wish my money went a little further. Fireteam works but when you team up for something you can’t fight with each other. This game is fun at first but you will see real quick all they want is money. Money for characters that’s a gotcha,money for mats,money for in game currency to buy mats you can’t farm,money for energy,money for this and money for that. In this season one of the games they have that you can only do once like every two weeks (The expanse). Regardless to your power level they nerf your character and buff the enemy’s and difficulty. The activity is 64000 and I’m 71000…my exotic pistols now do 92 dmg..yes 92…and the enemy’s that are thousands under my power level can 1 shot me. Why? They want you to want to be stronger sooo you can yup you guessed it, spend more MONEY. Did I mention the things you can buy are also useless,litterally have no reason to be in the game. I could keep going like for real,I’m lv 80 acclaim lv 32 and the only 2 characters I don’t have are the 2 new ones they just put out in they’re gotcha. Unfortunately, they only want money. The game is extremely bottle necked with end game resources. You can make a character strong and be able to compete but they won’t allow you to play the end game content unless the character you invested in is the right element, style and weapon type. One day it requires a specific character, build them for a month to complete, tomorrow the goal post has moved and you are no longer able to play the top end content. You cannot grind anything important so when the goal post moves your out of luck. I’ve spend weeks enjoying building a roster to end game level power. Today those guys are nerfed any a different set of the roster is viable. Want to build those characters, to bad the resources will not be available to build any hero to end game for literally weeks from now. When you get close, the goal with move again. Ive played destiny content since bungie launched d1. The players that just want to play the game and enjoy grinding are just fodder. Numbers of grubs to feed to whales that will pay to play. I don’t mind being food for the paying players to feast on, I’d just like enough scraps that I can play the available content. I can’t even play parts of the game because they hold leafs to get characters and they hold tokens for rewards back from the player bace. Any grind-able content that would allow me to progress my roster is required, or this game will fail. It just launched and it is a failure. It’s really disappointing.
