Detroit Free Press Reviews

Best local paper

sharalexis on

This is the most objective news reporting in Detroit.

Very good

No more ads for paying subscribers!

new-frog on

United States

As a paying subscriber, I should not be inundated with your insipid ads. As a result, only 1 star.

Bait and switch

Aschober on

United States

Click an ad and end up on a page that has nothing to do with the ad. The poor advertiser who paid for placement and got nothing

Very unstable

STB Sun on

United States

It is very hard to control the size of the page and print. The blue forward and reverse tab on the right disappears. Suddenly, the app has become very difficult to control. I spend more time trying to get the app to work right than I do reading the paper!

A great way to stay "tuned in"

Timezone Clueless on

United States

Being a former Michigander, I still follow the Detroit sports teams and the Free Press gives me the most up-to-date information on the local teams. I live in Las Vegas now, and the on-line version of the paper is my link to being back "home" in Michigan.

Best reading for Michigan sports.

Very informative!

Lotto numbers being published every night is not “breaking news”

jkeso83 on

United States

I have “breaking news” notifications turned on because I want to be informed if a big local story happens. Mega Millions numbers being published every night is not breaking news! Please stop notifying me that the lotto numbers are available.

Go back to the original Print Edition

Rosie7813 on

United States

Please go back to the original FreePress/Print app. It was so much better than this. I read the paper everyday online and print some of the puzzles. This app does not allow me to print anything. It also does not fit the page correctly and what’s with the adds popping up? I pay for this.

Pop-up Ads on page one and Sports page one

Tiege Liege on

United States

The app added these pop-ups recently which GREATLY irritate me. Touching the app used to just bring up the newspaper directly, and without ads.
