Description

The Dexcom Follow App is part of the Dexcom CGM system.

Use this app if your loved one is sharing data from their Dexcom CGM app.  The Sharer will need to send an invitation to allow you to connect after you have installed the Follow app.

Dexcom Follow is the perfect companion to your loved one’s Dexcom CGM, connecting you to those nearest and dearest to you, even when they’re far away. Through secure wireless connections, Dexcom Follow allows you to view and follow the glucose levels, trends and data of your loved ones.

Whether you have a child who is in school, an elderly parent who lives on their own, or a spouse who is going on a business trip, Dexcom Follow is there to keep you connected and informed.

With Dexcom Follow, you can:
·         Monitor your loved one’s glucose activity at school or anywhere they go.
·         Receive glucose information of up to 10 different Sharers – children, friends, or other loved ones.
·         Respond quickly with the help of customizable glucose alerts and push notifications that can inform you when a Sharer’s glucose levels are outside the usual ranges.

Non-functional

Unable to accept invite to share readings, app just says invite used already

Inconsistent

catwomanjm82 on

I’ve been using Dexcom follow for a few months to monitor my daughter’s T1 but it often has signal loss, although her g6 app is connected ! The alerts are on but they rarely work which means we miss massive highs or dangerous low levels. I’m waking all hours of the night panicking and checking. It does connect to my Apple Watch which is useful (when the app works). Thinking about moving over to Libre 2+ if/when it’s available in uk

Alerts don’t always go off

Sbunce74 on

I leave my phone unlocked and screen on all night so I can check for highs or lows. This is because the follow app rarely goes off once it reaches my set lows or highs. I have spoken with tech support about this multiple times and nothing seems to work. This means I don’t sleep a full night. It also means the app is failing to do its job. Change it, and change it soon!!!!! Or I will find an alternative.

Could be so much better!

This app is used for supporting someone with diabetes, and in the case of type 1 diabetes the app can provide critical alerts to safeguard the person with T1D. So accessibility is critical. So why does it not: 1. Integrate with Siri so that glucose levels can be accessed hands free? 2. Similarly, why can’t the app be accessed using Apple CarPlay? This would make travel more stress free. Come on developers, put yourself in the shoes of those who use this app to try and keep their loved ones safe.

Inconsistent audible alerts

Shelleygal78 on

iPhone 12, iOS 17.2.1 When I silence my alerts during the work day, using the small button on the side of my phone. I come home from work and turn silent mode off again moving the small button on the side of my iPhone. I receive all other audible alerts ie messages/calls etc but I don’t receive any dexcom alerts. I’ve tried restarting the app, toggling the silent mode switch on and off, turning alerts on and off within the app and changing the alert sound. The first time this happened, it started working again randomly, now I have to reinstall the app. This is frustrating and potentially dangerous because I’m not getting low blood sugar alerts at night.

Not good

Umm Abdollah on

As a parent of a child with diabetes , I’m not happy with this app . Sometimes there is no connection with me and her even thou she is next to me which is really bad especially if the sugar would be low and she was in another room . For that I’m giving This one star.

Not working

Mosesdadi on

It wasn’t working for a few months . I uninstall and install again and same problem. Keep saying that was removed by sharer. Since the update it stop working. I try everything and nothing

Dexcom take note!!

DDMDixon on

Same as many previous reviews the follower ALERTS have stopped working. What is the point dexcom of an potentially life saving app that doesnt work😡 Please sort this as the followers are parents of children who are usually not old enough to be responsible for taking control of their hypo situation, so you are putting lives at risk dexcom😡!

Intermittent alerts are concerning.

TheGoldNShadow on

When my son first started using his device last year the alerts were consistent but over the last couple of months it has become a lottery as to whether his or my phone will alert for highs or lows. This is a massive worry and potentially dangerous. Please sort it out!

Drops signal all the time

Monitoring a students levels on a school residential. Loss of data constantly throughout. How are we supposed to have peace of mind whilst running a school trip?!
