I started using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) about six months ago, switching from the FreeStyle Libre 2 — and honestly, with Libre 2 I rarely faced any sensor failures or connection issues.

But with Dexcom G7, the experience has been very frustrating.

Yes, the sensor sticks to the skin more securely, but it fails way more often. Every couple of months I face a new technical problem, and today was the worst.

I applied a new sensor, and after only 4 hours, the app told me: “Replace your sensor.”
I had to buy another sensor, applied it, and now the app has been “searching for sensor” for more than 30 minutes with zero connection.

This is not normal.
It is a waste of money, and more importantly, a risk to our health. I’ve now spent over two hours without knowing my blood sugar level — whether it’s high or low — just because of technical issues that I can’t fix.

Every time I think the system is finally stable, another problem appears. As a Type 1 diabetic, this level of inconsistency is extremely stressful and absolutely unacceptable.

Please work on fixing these issues. Stable CGM readings are not optional — they are essential for our safety.

Having used the Libre 2 for the past year, our local pharmacy stopped stocking it and encouraged me to purchase the Dexcom G7. It was same price as the Libre 2 - but only lasts 10 days instead of the Libre’s 14 days. The first sensor bled profusely after I applied it. The 2nd sensor was applied just now and after 30 minutes a message told me the sensor had failed!
That’s a waste of money!

Why in the world should a medical app and sensor be restricted to a location!
