Once installed the Bluetooth sync crashed numerous times, also Apple iOS updates for new version are irregular and often not reliable. Amazing this company is authorized to operate in the medical field (including tax payers’ money NHS reimbursement) as some people’s lives rely on these reading. It’s a simple software feature and there’s no reason they can’t turn it on for One+ with an hour of a dev’s time. They just don’t want to because they want us to upgrade and give them more money, and they’re willing to endanger us to do it. Shameful business practice. -- Robin87, 2024-12-13 ### ****- "Missing Insulin Options" I’ve just finished the last of my Dexcom One sensors (after 2 years of use) and have started with the Dexcom One +. The newer sensor, app and its functionality are a great improvement on the former. Thank you for your work so far. However there is one glaring omission. The option to record Insulin dosages on gives you two choices, either “fast-acting “ or “long-acting”. Since the update at the start of October however, nothing has worked properly. My Watch app no longer fits properly on my Ultra screen forcing me to used the Digital Crown to scroll between viewing the current reading and the graph. The Watch also constantly fails to update with the latest readings and, after a few minutes, just shows “Check Dexcom mobile app”. My Watch complications are no longer available and the Home Screen widget now looks terrible. -- PRR1701, 2024-10-03 ### ****- "Widget" I love the app. Having moved from Libre which had absolutely nothing, this is a breath of fresh air. Siri Shortcuts is a game changer within a HomePod filled home and Apple Watch support is brilliant. At first I had to tap the complication which displayed —- but with my new Watch Ultra I get the reading and arrow in the complication. But, what have you done to my beautiful iOS 18 Home Screen with this latest update, the widget has turned in to a square with a thick white border??? Been sent numerous new sensors because of unexplained sensor failures and incorrect glucose readings. Now the app isnt letting me calibrate. I am having to test my blood sugars more than i was before.. not less. I installed it correctly and was fine for the first day. Subsequently the app started losing signal with the sensor. The error message was for me to keep the phone within 6m of the sensor. I found this interesting because the phone was always on me. Otherwise the phone was on a table in front of me or in the same room as I was. This is a joke. If by the time I finish the second sensor and this error persists, it will mark the end of this device for me. The history note is useful but it would be better if there was an insulin option for a user mix e.g Novomix 30 which is 30% quick and 70% slow acting. At the moment there is only a short or long option -- Grove80, 2024-09-21 ### **--- "Needs Critical Alerts" This is a decent enough app, but why oh why oh why doesn’t it use the iPhone Critical Alerts feature so you can get alerts when your phone is in focus mode or sleep? It’s such a glaring omission that it lets the whole app down, I have to have a separate app (Sugarmate) to alert me if I’m about to have a hypo overnight. Also, none of the help pages work for me - they’re all blank. Same with the Contact page. The Dexcom One Plus is a massive upgrade of my ability to manage my blood glucose, but the app lacks features it really should have. I love the interface but it really *does* need dark mode/themes! Nothing quite like waking up your partner when checking your level at 3am and the screen lights up like a torch! Having to go to clarity app for reports is slightly annoying but Shuggah and Libre both do the same *if* you want printable reports. in fact NightScout really runs best on a desktop so this is a bit better. The UI is a bit buggy; doesn’t always seem to recognise when I’ve changed phone orientation - my phone works fine with other apps on this point - and have occasionally witnessed it misplacing the components of the screen (needs work on those Layout Constraints!!!). An actual figure for the delta of the readings would by handy. The arrows are good but I’d personally like a definite number. -- Doodler68, 2024-08-17 ### *---- "Critical Alarms Missing" Having become disappointed with the durability of the freestyle libre 2 sensor, I decided to switch to the Dexcom One Plus. Having activated the device, straight away I was alerted to the face that I’d only get alarms if my phone was on loud and not silent. Unlike the libre system, the app doesn’t utilise ‘critical alerts’ to burst through your silent mode. As someone who always uses silent (lots of work notifications that I don’t want to miss but equally don’t want to bother others with noise), this is a slam dunk failure. Reading now online, the G6 can do critical alerts… so Dexcom can do them. Why not on this app? For me, this reduces the usability of the system so much for me, I’m likely to see if the other sensors I acquired on prescription can be returned. Why they’ve chosen to omit this?? Who knows? In 2024, I would’ve thought that this would be obvious and instead, this product feels like a big step backwards. The most annoying thing is the graph display - why can’t I swipe to show older data like I can in Apple Health? The other clunky thing is needing a separate app (Clarity) just to download reports and graphs from Dexcom. The app does what it should but there are problems. I've had the app crash at night, although I didn't have a hypo this could have been a real issue. Alarms do operate but none of the info takes into consideration if the phone has 'focus' set. Sleep focus silences all alarms and you have to add the app to the focus setting to override it. This isn't mentioned in any of the set up info. I'm sure the app will continue to be improved but until then it's just three stars. -- the real Neil S., 2024-07-07 ### ****- "Good Simple App but!" The app displays everything you need to know in a clear easy to understand format. It’s yellow for high, red for low but I can’t understand why it’s a neutral grey for being in target range. This really would be better displayed green. Also the alarms are a little limited with only alarming for high & low with a couple of bleeps. Maybe these could be extended until snooze is activated. Also an alarm for fast rise & fast drop would help.
