## Dicey Dungeons+ Reviews in United States

### ***** "Fun, Addictive, and Deserving of a Sequel"
If you’re into strategy games with a healthy dose of absurdity, Dicey Dungeons is a must-play.

It starts off simple, but as you unlock each character with their own unique abilities, the game gets deeper and more strategic.

That variety keeps every run feeling different, with progressive challenges making sure things stay fresh. The quirky art and soundtrack really add to the charm, too.

What I love most is the balance of luck and strategy. Sure, bad dice rolls happen, but figuring out how to turn things around with your abilities is half the fun.

I’m really hoping for a sequel! There’s so much room for new characters, abilities, and tougher dungeons. Dicey Dungeons has a strong foundation, and it’d be exciting to see where it could go next.

If you’re after something easy to pick up but hard to put down, give Dicey Dungeons a try. Here’s hoping there’s more to come!

### **--- "Spin the wheel"
You know devs when you make a spin the wheel game that after ten spins still lands on skull is when I wonder what the heck is wrong with you!!! Is there some kind of in app in the non arcade version?? All you have done is pss me off!

### ****- "Good, but repetitive."
I love the game, but it’s got a few flaws. First things first: It’s mainly luck based, which feels perfect for the game, but it’s not really good. I mean, it’s a good idea on paper, but the idea of crossing your fingers and hoping you get a six to take out that one boss before it takes you out, REALLY STRESSFUL! Second: the lack of characters. it would really be cool if we had some sort of character that can dictate the dice rolls! and I ran out of ideas

### ***-- "meh"
whats the point if you have to start over at the bottom every time? i play casually. i would think that if i played 3 levels and came back i would be where i left off. not back at the start. disappointing.

### ****- "If you like a challenge"
This game is fun at first then it makes me want to throw my phone then fun again and then it makes me wanna cry in a corner it’s addictive but some levels are super hard i literally hate and love this game

### ***** "Request for a new level pack"
I was wondering if you could make a level pack were sneezy frog and slime turn into dice and try to find their way back to normal, These players have special abilities but they are pretty weak and the 3 dice can evolve themselves with statues that makes their instincts more powerful and with a locked instinct with also normal moves. New bosses like the (king feathering) the king of the loud birds and mr. nightmare a cloud that confused it’s enemies. Sneezy Frog and Slime was punish to be curse into dice fighting with what they have, The level pack is called dungeon mind games also a mega boss the queen core the heart of the game very hard to beat.

### ***-- "Decent"
First, as always: the positives I see. The art style is cute (I think it’s the most charming part of the game), the potential for “deck-building” is always appreciated (more on that later), and there’s respectable depth to gameplay strategy.

The negatives: this is perhaps a bit harsh, but all I can really think while playing this is that it’s an inferior version to the outstanding Slay the Spire, which is also available on Apple Arcade. The two games are NOT identical, of course (StS using cards with fixed energy costs vs this game using dice with re-rollable utility values,) but the mechanics are strikingly similar nonetheless.

The rogue-like elements feel severely limited, too. Each floor contains very few enemies, with only one real boss at the end of the climb that has truly interesting mechanics.

THIS last bit of feedback didn’t affect my rating, because idk who decided this game should be in the “role-playing” category on Apple Arcade, but I’d have to disagree with that placement. It’s a lot of roll-playing, and not enough role-playing. The level of customization offered is far too limiting to consider the game to be a roleplaying experience, IMHO. Not to beat a dead horse, but I can’t help but to compare it to StS, where a player can build a MASSIVE deck and accrue artifacts that are separate FROM the deck, but have dramatic effects of the flow of combat. Just another element that makes THAT game interesting, but I feel is lacking from Dicey Dungeons.

Also … the singular form of dice is die, not dice. I immediately cringed when the opening dialogue had our hero character say, “I’m a dice.” Perhaps that was meant to be intentional, but it felt like a proofreading oversight that already made me feel like I was in the wrong place.

### **--- "Stressful"
It’s a really fun game, I mean that. I love the concept. BUT… it’s so frustrating. I play phone games when I’m unwinding at night. But this was stressful more than anything. Having to restart the entire episode after getting knocked out by the boss.. multiple times…for one episode is so defeating. I could understand restarting the floor when you get knocked out.. but having to restart the entire episode is wild. Multiple times I would be playing an episode for nearly 30 minutes, finally get to the boss, only to be whooped and feel like the previous 30 minutes was a waste. I know playing games is all technically wasted time, but at least when you’re playing a game where you’re progressing, you get a feeling of accomplishment.

### ***** "One of my favorites is finally on Apple Arcade!"
I’m so excited others can experience this great game for free! To be upfront: this is a roguelike/lite, so each run is independent of one another. What you get from winning is unlocking new characters and stages that those characters can play through (twists on the current run - like a more curated ascension system). If you like slay the spire, this is the kind of game for you. There’s no meta-progression where you unlock power ups that help you through all your runs however (just like slay the spire), so if that’s a deal breaker be warned. The game just has so much charm in the art, music, characters and simple yet surprisingly deep gameplay to top it off. Some of the different characters feel like different games altogether, and I love that. Some of the challenges are really tricky (and I also love that!). You have to think of it more like a traditional level based game than a classic roguelike (or meta-progression based roguelite), where each run is a complete-able challenge and then you move onto the next one (I recommend going in waves, doing one episode of each character in order, and then doing the second for each character, to help keep things fresh). Anyway, feel free to try it out. It might feel breezier and less deep than slay the spire, but as I got a few runs deep I really began to appreciate its simple yet nuanced take on the genre. There is strategy here, for sure. P.S. as a hint - map ordering matters a lot, especially on later episodes.

### **--- "The Fun Ends"
Game started out so fun. Then you realize everything is a reset so it’s literally same game over and over and over. Build win, reset, repeat. There is not carry over from episode to episode. More often then not play thru will not open up upgrades that make the character playable. Also I’m 0/30 on the spin the wheel… don’t waste your time unless you are looking for 20 minutes of fun and delete
