It is a companion to the Digital Atlas of Ancient Life website and was supported by grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF EF-1206757, EF-1206769, EF-1206750 and DBI-1602067, DBI-1645520) to principal investigators Dr. Bruce S. Lieberman (University of Kansas), Dr. Alycia Stigall (Ohio University), and Dr. Jonathan Hendricks (Paleontological Research Institution). This project is related to a broader natural history specimen digitization effort supported by the National Resource for Advancing the Digitization of Biodiversity Collections (ADBC) called Integrated Digitized Biocollections, or iDigBio. For additional information about this work please see the open-access paper by Hendricks, Stigall, and Lieberman (2015) in Palaeontologia Electronica. ## Digital Atlas of Ancient Life Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple113/v4/2f/c8/2c/2fc82c70-be14-bc5f-b3ab-2d858a7a5dae/mzl.lwgmtzko.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple123/v4/39/3d/ce/393dcee3-25f3-9d25-9a4e-637601bf32d1/mzl.lgiqafpf.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple123/v4/68/b1/eb/68b1eb0f-2347-c1b8-e876-01d3cfe790bc/mzl.exuftgmm.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple113/v4/73/43/3b/73433b4b-5600-71af-9ce3-b9fba6fd090d/mzl.xzocqzkk.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple113/v4/95/4e/66/954e661e-0d07-192b-1681-5a6a6c48d65b/mzl.iqqwvxqd.png/640x960.png) ## Digital Atlas of Ancient Life Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 17 (57%) - 4 stars: 2 (7%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 2 (7%) - 1 stars: 9 (30%) ## Digital Atlas of Ancient Life Reviews in United States ### **--- "Account suspended" I was thoroughly enjoying using the app but was extremely surprised when I tried to log in and an “account suspended” message appeared. Tried to find out why but no luck. Sure would like to know why…. -- zxzxzx!, 2021-09-22 ### ***** "Awesome new update" Just got the new version of the app and really love it. I’d been a long time user of the previous version and the new version has great new graphics and interface, and the Cretaceous time period is an excellent addition. The app is an excellent tool for learning more about various types of fossils, what they look like and where to find them. -- Trilolight, 2019-12-08 ### *---- "Review" Great potential, but lacking information and facts. There are hardly any fossils, and the ones that are mentioned are missing facts and data. -- the SciO times, 2018-05-26 ### *---- "Not helpful" They should definitely add more. And it only has three time zones. :( -- CHEE£€€¥£€, 2017-08-05 ### *---- "Horrible app." This is the worst app I've ever downloaded. Who in the hell gave this a positive review? -- 1/25/15, 2016-10-20 ### ***** "Excellent app" Easy to use and perfect for amateur paleontologists. I am in the construction trade and collect fossils in my spare time. I really like the mapping function and use this app all the time. I strongly recommend it and you can't beat the price. -- Mobester123, 2015-12-28 ### ****- "Great App" I've been waiting for a fossil app to come along! Love the content and information. Hope to see additional time periods and more pics. I have many interesting fossils including some different conularia species that I didn't see on the site. I would love to have a forum to submit photos for possible inclusion. -- AlanaLynn, 2015-11-13 ### ***** "Fantastic App!" This is a great resource for quickly looking up specimens! -- Zacataur, 2015-11-09 ### ***** "Really informative" I downloaded this app for my teenage son who is fascinated with examining fossils and their histories. Not only are the photos and maps very clear and descriptive, but this app is super easy to use, easily transitioning from fossil to fossil. He loves it! -- Saucey and Wubs, 2015-11-07 ### ***** "Classroom teacher" I found this app accidentally while looking up photos of fossils and loved it immediately. I found it easy to navigate with very nice photos. It was fun to explore and I feel I will be useful in my classroom. I plan on using it on a field trip I am planning. Thanks to the creators for a new, useful tool for teachers. -- Jackie Van Asdlan, 2015-11-07 [View all Digital Atlas of Ancient Life reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Digital Atlas of Ancient Life Discovered Keywords -
