## Dimplex Control Description
Control and monitor your heating and hot water with Dimplex Control. Group heaters into zones to easily control and track their energy usage. Any time. Anywhere.

Manage multiple sites, spot faults, remotely, all from one App. Forgot to turn the heating off before going on holiday? Want to make sure a minimum temperature is maintained? Now your heating is never out of reach.

Your privacy and security are paramount. Dimplex Control is built on the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform, with end-to-end encryption between the cloud and your devices.

Easy set-up. The app features a step-by-step setup wizard so you can start using the system quickly without having to leave the app. Simply connect your Dimplex Product* to a Dimplex Hub and gain control remotely through the App.

Zoned control. Quickly view and change heating mode.

Remote access. Monitor and control your heating from anywhere in the world using the Dimplex Control App** and a mobile data connection. Utilise Bluetooth to communicate directly with the Hub. This makes setup quick and never requires you to leave the app during setup***

Monitor energy usage by heater, zone or site with a daily, monthly and annual view.

Control your hot water. See how much water is available at the set temperature (Requires a compatible Dimplex Quantum Water Cylinder QWCd).

See faults reported on the app and request help using service mode.

* Only specific heater models and series letters listed above are supported. Dimplex Control support requires additional hardware. In all cases, purchase of a Dimplex Hub (model name ‘DimplexHub’) is required to connect to the internet and communicate with supported Dimplex products. Some products also require additional hardware to provide RF connectivity (model name ‘RFM’) for communication with Dimplex Hub. To check if a product requires an RF upgrade, check the compatibility list  Dimplex Control support is subject to change.

** App control requires download and usage of the Dimplex Control app onto a compatible device. Dimplex Control requires the creation of a Dimplex Control account and is subject to agreement of the GDHV Internet of Things (IoT) Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

*** Dimplex Control initial set-up, updates and all usage require a broadband internet connection for both system and app; ISP and mobile carrier fees apply.

### ***-- "Dimplex Edel usable hot water not useful"
When the tank falls below 40 degrees it states you have 0 litres of hot water left. Not helpful as there’s no sense of what temperature the remaining water is. Either allow the app to show the cylinder water temperature, or make it adjustable for what the ‘usable’ hot water temperature is.

Personally I find 36-38 degrees hot enough, yet the app saying 0L gives ‘range anxiety’, whereas there may actually be more than enough hot water for a comfortable hot shower. Everyone is different.

### **--- "3 years on and still can’t remotely lock/ unlock"
Used for holiday home for last 3 years where important to stop guests from fiddling with controls (given how complicated they are) or ,heaven forbid, decide to lock and set own password.  Couldn’t amend controls remotely when locked when installed 3 years ago and still can’t.  Completely negates benefits of being able to control remotely.  Come on Dimplex do you really have such a poor regard for your customers that despite this being the most frequent complaint with the app you still haven’t fixed this?!

Having previously been used to using the Tado app I was expecting a similar level of control. There seems to be no way of setting the system to frost protection if you are away from home. You must set individual temperatures.

### *---- "Horrible app that’s almost impossible to control"
I’ve no idea how to set a schedule. Sometimes I can get it to work but most of the time it fails to update the settings.
Evidently designed by an engineer instead of a software developer.
Please seek some help to make it usable.

### **--- "Desperately Needs Improvement"
When it works, the app is adequate - if a little slow. Despite it requiring local hardware, it is clear this heavily relies on the cloud. 

But this biggest vital problem is that when setting schedules, despite saying they successfully save, it fails to save. The amount of days I have had no heat because this app has failed to save schedules (and I’ve failed to check by going back into the schedule) are numerous. And what’s worse, it has sometimes taken me up to 4 times of setting the schedule for it to finally save. This is one of the main functions on the app and for it to be so unreliable is really poor and desperately needs work - especially when the app claims the schedule save has been successful which is completely misleading. 

Additionally there is no external integrations - so there is absolutely no option to use HomeKit, Matter or Home Assistant to try and get around it. Just stuck with this buggy app. 

These pieces of hardware are not cheap. Dimplex - please sort this out.

### *---- "Only half done - disappointing"
Needs to be properly developed and updated. The essential functionality to remotely set charge times etc and lock/unlock for letting property are just not there! These are vital remote control requirements particularly for single supply operation. Disappointing for a high profile company with a lot of technical resources.

Pleased to see the zoom facility has been put back on today 2 September 24. Just need to add the ability to amend the charge times remotely!

It is imposibile to connect the app with the hub, unless you are an expert ! 
The guy who installed it and he knows this stuff couldn’t do it and i just spend half day trying: to create an account, to link the hub and to make it work ! It is saying is soooo simple …… nit really!

### ***-- "Limitations preventing it being a GREAT PRODUCT!"
As a landlord it’s great to be able to keep track of how often my tenants are using the heating panels from the comfort of my own home. Also the thermostat shown on app allows me to see how warm on average a room is or if they are using external heating. BUT and a MASSIVE BUT!, I just wished that I am able to control the panels on the APP when it’s “locked” on the actual heating panel. As having the radiator “locked” to the tenants also “locks” the access for landlord on the app - and I would need to physically go to the property and enable with a code. Which I find very confusing and it defeats the whole purpose of a Dimplex control app. I encourage the software engineers to look into this and allow access to the heating panels even if they’re locked. This would allow greater flexibility to be able to manage heating preferences/settings on the Dimplex control app, whilst locked to the tenants. If you see this message Dimplex, please acknowledge my message. If this can be done, I will change my review from a 3 star to a 5 star. It’s the only feature that prevents it from being good to GREAT. I would consider this model across my portfolio and recommend to other landlords in my connection.

Really poor app performance. Have managed to get the different heaters in different rooms set to different profiles throughout the day - but the connection is lost more than 50% of the time - meaning you can’t change the temperatures or the profiles as and when you’d like. I’d expect this performance from an app 10-15 years ago but in 2024 it is poor. Look forward to spring when I can just switch all the heaters off.

My husband and I consider ourselves to be relatively IT savvy. But this app is driving us mostly me, mad! We have 20 heaters in out hall and at the moment I would rather go back to using an old fashions timer! It takes a long time to connect which i have learnt to deal with but learning how the app works is a nightmare and i still scant say with certainty that heating is going to come on for hirers!
