Discount Trolly has been one of the best apps that I’ve used this year in my attempts to be more financially savvy and aware of my spending habits. The ability to split your bill across multiple stores and see the cheapest price is a godsend, especially as someone who lives in close proximity to a lot of these stores. The lists are super handy for me to make lists for all my different recipes and tick off the items I currently have vs what I need to buy. The premium does provide some key features that I wish were included in free-tier like the scanner, but you still do get free scans which was helpful and the main features are absolutely well worth the purchase. I’ve tried all the competitors, and some don’t load properly, nor do they having working barcode scanners. So to me the free tier is solid, and the premium is well worth the subscription. You can search for items and compare prices for the same or comparable items across Woolies/Coles/Aldi. I particularly like the option to create a shopping list and have the app split your shop across the three to optimise savings. Note: while the free plan says “up to 2 shopping lists”, the maximum number of items than can be added (i.e. “saved” to the list is 10. It’s essentially a chance to see how the function works and to decide if you want to subscribe.
