DocReviewPad Reviews

Limited functionality

LAW Arc on

United States

The inability to copy and paste is a significant limitation on functionality. Practicing lawyers recognize the need to copy and past evidence from documents so that it can be used in legal briefs. The developers do not seem interested in making this upgrade and I would recommend other apps for attorneys who intend to incorporate written discovery in legal briefs. Updated review. I still use the platform because it is still the most convenient app for those using IPads. That said, my review is unchanged. There is a persistent glitch with the software as well where, when reviewing a large document production, if you navigate away from the app even momentarily, it will automatically move you to the last page of the file. Needless to say, this is a needlessly frustrating glitch. I have reported it to the developer numerous times over the past year. To their credit, the developer has acknowledge the problem. However, despite numerous software updates, it hasn’t corrected the glitch.

Generating Reports

I have been a long time fan of the apps. However, at some point, the Doc Review Pad app has a problem. No matter what I do, when I want to generate a report that just includes certain tags, the report generated includes every single tag, even when I specifically excluded it. I have been in touch with development team several times and they have indicated a fix is in the works but it has been several months. That is the feature I use most and just can’t use it in current form. Looking forward to the update.

Easy to use document manager

IPV Litigation Services on

United States

I run a litigation support firm, and have used several trial presentation software products. DocReviewPad is one of the best document managers out there. Though for our purposes, my firm doesn’t use DRP like an attorney would, it plays incredibly well with its companion software, TrialPad and makes the workflow of compiling a case file for our clients easy. I am incredibly happy with this software and with the developer’s responsiveness and receptiveness to feedback. 10/10

More than meets the eye

At first I wasn’t sure how to use this app, which I downloaded as part of the suite. Watched the videos and now I use it all the time for dep prep. I can pull only the pages I need from everything I have in the app and export to TrialPad. The export is step by step and works for TrialPad or to another location for exhibit exchanges. App is amazing and fast. I also use it for my bates stamps, and just to access and search through all the docs in my case (including motions, orders, etc) which I used to do with TrialPad, but works better for me in DocreviewPad.

Please improve pen detection

Jir004 on

United States

For this price I would really expect better detection of writing instruments and writing sensitivity. Handwriting on the apps is incredibly difficult and it does not detect every other stroke. I’m working with the latest and highest capacity iPad, plus latest pen. This is an issue that not even the free apps have. It feels like I’m trying to draw with an old school mouse.

Seamless

koorblaw on

This is a great tool to organize and filter documents, then only sending the relevant ones to TrialPad. It’s really useful that they appear as folders in TrialPad organized by issue code.

Integrates with suite

Integrates well with TrialPad to get you documents organized before presenting.

I used to use the old version and was pretty proficient with it. Didn’t use it for a few years. Now the apps have changed a lot. I have a trial coming up in Feb 2022. I want to use these apps but they are no longer friendly. I cannot load any of my pdf docs into the program. I have tried Dropbox like I always used. I have reached out to the developer. I have watched all the the tutorials. But I feel that I need some hands on training. Can’t find any vendors. May just have to delete these apps. Very frustrating T

Too many glitches and crashes

JFWilliamson5 on

I love the concept and if it worked as claimed I would be satisfied. However, it constantly crashes and the glitches make it more trouble than it’s worth.
