I used this app for some time, and bought individual courses. Then they tried to charge me €300 without my consent. I definitely didn’t knowingly agree to it. Afterwards I found it very difficult to navigate regarding subscriptions & payments to ensure they wouldn’t attempt to charge me again.

I was just charged for a renewal with no warning, no email or anything for 155 euro (from a free trial!!!!!) and only getting not responses. I loved this company previously but this is so sneaky and gross.

I bought a €2 course on Domestika last month. They have now charged me €104 for a Plus account - something I did not want or ask for. The payment process for a course is deliberately designed to automatically sign you up for the Plus account without your full consent. The email they send saying that your ‘free trial’ coming to an end, does not highlight the fact that they are about to charge you a whole whack for it! You have to scroll down and read the very teeny tiny small print which tells you… Extremely underhand behaviour.
Domestika is a scam - the courses might be nice to dip into but you will get burnt!

I love picking up different hobbies and Domestika has been my go to, to learn new things and get inspirations from designers and artists. Courses are very well defined and content quality is incredible. The fact that each artist add their creative touch to the courses, it feels so connected. I am extremely happy that this app exists. While the courses are generally excellent quality. Trying to watch them on the iPhone app is incredibly frustrating. Despite a few recent updates, I still cannot cast to my Samsung TV. It’s the only streaming app I use that won’t recognise it. Even just trying to view videos on my phone, it constantly hangs while loading or just refuses to play. The entire app needs a complete overhaul.

Hi, I enrolled in few courses which are quite well presented. Unfortunately the resources provided with some of the courses are in Spanish language and of no use to English speakers. This could have been mentioned in the description (they do mention subtitles but nothing about resources).  I think it is reasonable to expect translated resources as Domestika is advertised globally.

### *---- "Great content, poor quality app"
UPDATE NOV 2021: the app is still horrible. For example, on iPad if you paused a video and switched to a different app, when you are back to Domestika app the video won’t play where you left unless you close the application and open it again. But then you will start on a page with promotions and when you finally navigate to the course you are following, the app will start playing almost at a random lesson. The progress is still not correctly synced between devices. So the verdict is still the same - great content, horrible app.

UPDATE: now I use an iPad version of the app - and it’s even worse than the iPhone version. In 80% cases the video just does not play or the app would bring you to a random part of the course “to continue where you left off”. As much as I love the content of Domestika courses, I find the app to be extremely poorly designed. It’s more of a catalogue of courses trying to sell you more, instead of being a learning platform. It lacks even basic functions like continue a course where you last left it (you will need to go to your courses, scroll through am I sorted list of all your courses, then you can continue with your course).

I’ve taken a few courses with Domestika, just two teachers so far, but it’s so much easier learning this way than from a book or a YouTube video. Moving at your own pace is probably the biggest advantage to this, but knowing that the teachers are first artists and professionals/paid for their creations gives me a lot of faith that I’m being taught by people who know their industry, something I want to get further into and get paid for. 

Delighted to have found this easy, inexpensive, and productive app and its wide array of subjects.

The courses are well priced and very well presented.  The subtitles are easy to follow and although there can be some confusing English translations, mostly they’ve been clear.  I’m always finding new content on it and gain plenty of inspiration and tips from the site. It’s brilliant and when the courses are discounted it’s great! Highly recommend the site.

Domestika provides a wide and very varied range of courses,presented by very impressive tutors who work professionally as experts in their areas of specialization. I don’t speak Spanish,Portuguese but in general the subtitles work very well. My only small issue is that the tutors speak very quickly and it can be challenging to follow reading the subtitles and simultaneously looking at the screen content. But, I keep coming back for more, that’s the ultimate compliment. Well done Domestika! Patricia
