Description
What is Interslavic?
- an improvised applied language that spontaneously develops in interslavic contacts;
- a scientific interpolation of a hypothetical language that lies at the very center of the Slavic languages;
- a modernized continuation of the common ancestor of the Slavic languages (Proto-Slavic) or its close relative, Old Church Slavonic.
A bit of history
In 2011, Medžuslovjanski was chosen as a common nickname for all Interslavic projects. After the merger of Slovianski and Neoslavonic in 2017, it became Medžuslovjanski.
The current version of Interslavic was created in the summer of 2017 by a committee consisting of: Vojtech Merunka, Jan van Steenbergen, Roberto Lombino, Michal Svat and Pavel Skrylev.
What does this application give you?
- the ability to download and view interslavic words with their translations into a number of Slavic languages;
- the functionality of searching for words, adding to Favorites, filtering, choosing spelling, sorting direction, as well as viewing detailed information about a word;
- a mechanism for transliterating interslavic words from Latin to Cyrillic and vice versa.
When developing the application, part of the code from the GitHub projects interslavic and js-utils was adapted. All rights, including translations, belong to their legal owners.
The application is inspired by the online dictionary interslavic-dictionary and the official website of the interslavic language.
