Too bad
My last review of this app several years ago was 5 stars. I decided to try it again and now it’s 1 star. It’s not a modern iPhone app any more, it lacks functionality, integration with iOS features and general usability. Shame.
Long time user
I have used Downcast for years. It has all the options to tune each podcast to behave exactly the way I want. It has been great and I don’t see a need to change. The low one-time charge is appreciated, too.
No search
Can’t search for podcasts by name. Waste of money. If there is a search in there, I can’t find it. That’s a UI fail.
Podcast searches broken
Downcast no longer permits searching for new podcasts, Reddit Downcast also shows other useers with same issue recently as 3 days ago.
Ok until recently
Won’t search or add new podcasts. Nothing under the categories either

Surprisingly poor and confusing to use. Not worth paying for certainly.
Love the app but gets out of sync
Been using this app for years but lately if I stop a podcast next time I come back to keep listening to a podcast it’s starts a few minutes earlier than where I left it, so I need to fast forward to catch up to where I left off.
Simply the BEST for the oldschool podcast lover.
I’ve been listening to, creating and collecting Podcasts since before they were called Podcasts! Downcast is simply the best way for to manage, listen to and share the podcasts I love and make. I just hope they work closer with Adam Curry and the podcast2.0 team - that would make the best player even better!!! And get them 5 stars!!
My favorite
In my opinion the best podcast app. My favorite features are that for every podcast I can individually set things like speed and the start/end time (to skip over repetitive intros and ads).
