In dieser Version (2.9.42.7098) ist endlich der seit einem Jahr bestehende Absturzfehler behoben. Das versöhnt mich wieder halbwegs mit dieser App.

Wünschenswert wäre jetzt, wenn die App auch an die neuen iOS-Features bzw. die der Konkurrenz (z.B. Stille-Unterdrückung) angepasst würde.

Ich höre seit vielen Jahren Podcasts, habe (soweit ich weiß) alle Podcatcher probiert, dieser ist für mich der beste. Einziges Manko, das für viele vermutlich nicht traisch ist, ab 2,5 facher abspielgeschwindigkeit hört es sich nicht mehr gut an, dafür hat man hier die besten Einstellungen um die eigenen bedürfnisse für jeden einzelnen Podcast zu befriedigen.

Nicht nur ein hervorragender Podcast-Player, sondern auch geeignet für Hörbücher! Mit einem Sleep Timer, der auch bei geschlossenem iPad funktioniert. Meines Wissens der einzige.
Hörbuch Import sogar direkt aus der iTunes Mediathek des iPads:
Zahnrad - Tools - Import Media files
Extract from Media Library. Dann die entsprechenden Hörbücher auswählen, die von m4b in m4a konvertiert werden. Um das Wiederstarten an der selben Stelle kümmert sich ohnehin Downcast.
