When Apple released it's completely dysfunctional podcast app, I was forced to find a suitable alternative. Reading the many reviews it seemed to be Downcast. Initially it preformed well (outstanding compared to Apple's abortion of an app). But over time it has got slower and slower, sometimes taking over two minutes just to load a single podcast. I have an older iOS device running iOS 7.1, I have one playlist and on average up to 200 audio podcasts. Everything else runs ok except Downcast! It now crashes every time you reopen it. As each update has arrived adding 'features' and fixing bugs (must be lots of those) the performance has gotten worse, to the point that is now unusable. This is not rocket science, open app select podcast, play podcast, play next podcast
