DraftCode for PHP IDE Reviews
Update please
I think this app could be the best on the market for coding.
Could you update the Phpmyadmin as there’s some errors.
Could you also make it run on the latest php version as I bought it and if it doesn’t run on it, then it’s a waste of money.
I will happily advertise this app to my followers if you keep it updated and make it even more better
Great tool
Fantastic tool that allows me to build and maintain WordPress plugins while on the move without having to take my laptop.
Only gripe is not being able to access the site from Chrome or other tools outside of the app. Add that and it would be perfect, even as a paid add on😁
Works really well!
I hope this app keeps being updated. It’s really useful and can’t believe I’m running dev copies of WordPress on my iPad Pro. Excellent job.
Needs work
Having spent 15 on this I was expecting a lot more tbh. However, the very basic feature of not being able to edit files and run the server at the same time is must have in the coming updates...
Amazing app so far!
Only just downloaded and I’m off and running already. I’ve just got bootstrap and PHP code running on an iPad!!
Would love a better looking UI (like Koder) and a way to open and edit files directly from Files app (or other cloud storage locations).
As described by the developer, I’ve just got WorkingCopy and am will try out cloning my GIT projects and import/export them for now.
Would love more features added and see this turn into a 1-stop development environment! (SSH, FTP, Database access).
Two steps from perfect...
Two Features, one quite important for ide:
1.mobile optimised text editor
2.Ability to access served website from other app.
Time moves on. Users move to more convenient tools. Draftcode has nothing wrong with it until you do not explore other paid IDE's.
PHP environment remains it's only , big advantage among iOS IDE's. I am using different app with vastly better user experience of text editing to access its files, and firing the App itself only after i am ready for checking for php errors.
Last Updates Made their stiff and clunky text editor a little bit less stressful mixture of tapping and hoping for best.
Keep it up, it is getting better.
The one big minus still remains a mystery to me, while:
1. PYTHONISTA can run the server which outputs can be accessed as localhost from Safari or LAN,
2.GoCode has simple ,no back-end, file server as localhost from Safari or LAN,
3.even some e.g. PdfToText has simple FTP html server...
It seems like it would be easy big improvement but PHP Draftcode has no connection to outside ports whatsoever, you always have to open other app to debug Javascript with console.
Disappointed
I was hoping to run Grav but no support for PHP GD.
A great app for distraction free coding on the go
DraftCode provides a full PHP runtime on my phone. Not just a dummy learning environment but a full PHP installation.
It's clear that the author knows a thing or two about workflow because with just a handful of simple features DraftCode provides and effective flow for distraction free coding.
Promising start being able to use iPad for native PHP development
I love that this exists and I'm able to write some PHP without relying on an external server. I'd love to give it 5 stars, but can't as it's not yet able to run CraftCMS which I use almost exclusively.
Average
I am pretty disappointed with the text editor. Please take a look at textastic for iOS for future updates. The built in php is fantastic tho
