Hello, 
I’ve been using the app for 2 weeks now to improve my own skills (I’m not a drum teacher, but a hobbyist) and it helps so much to train your ear and improve your reading skill as well.
Oftentimes, I’m able to understand what is being played and write it down but I can’t hear/feel it, meaning reproducing the rhythm sounds and feels always off. Now with Beat Note, I simply create my partition and play it until I’m able to really hear/feel it. So so good!

I’ve been transposing my teachers hand written notes and attempting to score songs I like from ear in this app. It’s great, really simple to use and does exactly what you need from a drumming practice and note taking perspective.

If you’re a teacher, please consider using this tool! 

If you’re a student… get the tool either way. Even if your teacher isn’t up for using it, going through the process of making the notes in the app adds to the learning process.

Great app, really nice for messing around with fill ideas on the go. 
Main complaint is the payment system. Dunno about anyone else but I’m not paying £30 annually up front for an app I might use once or twice a week. 
Let me pay monthly and cancel and resubscribe as and when I want to, and I would absolutely pay for the premium version; I would think most people only use this when writing for new songs, and most of us aren’t writing parts 24/7 so having an annual upfront payment just seems daft IMO.

Beat Note is a fantastic app. I love the recent addition of “worksheet templates” — I use this with my students to make custom worksheets in their lessons. I can send them home with a PDF of what we worked on in their lesson and send them a link so they can view and listen to the exercises in the app. Easy five stars!
