Description

DTMFdec is a highly sensitive DTMF-tone decoder which dynamically adapts to noisy or quiet environments.
Decoded numbers are stored in a list, from where you can perform actions like:
• dial number
• new contact with number
• add number to existing contact
• copy to pasteboard
Especially the "copy to pasteboard" feature is useful when you want to lookup the number in your local phone directory or just google for it.
DTMFdec is able to decode the following digits:
1234567890*#ABCD

DTMFdec Reviews

Simple, easy to use, works well.

After I reported that the app appeared to have stopped working, the developer worked with me to troubleshoot the problem. Turns out that the microphone access got inadvertently disabled, so the developer added a check for that.

Doesn’t work, don’t download

Multi-Tennant Doorphone

Dave Hegyera on

We had a Multi-Tennant doorphone that transmitted DTMF from the door station to the controller in the basement. We needed to determine the transmitted numbers. This product worked very well, and showed us what digits were sent. From there we could make changes to the system for proper operation. Great product, and a time saver!

Doesn’t decode fast tones. Basically worthless.

Not worth the money

Listened in to a fire alarm panel dialing a telephone number (10 digits). Display came up having decoded "6". Not 6 of the 10 digits. "6". That is what it decoded out of 10 digits dialed. 1 digit. Useless.

Not bad

I just downloaded it and it works pretty good. It does miss sometimes. It was noisy where I was using it but it still got the digits after I did it a couple of times.

Needs major upgrade

Needs DTMF dial pad to encode/output DTMF tones manually and to save them as memory for speed dialing. Doesn't decode fast enough and gets many tones wrong.

Overpriced beacuse it's not fast enough.

This could have been a cool app and a useful utility to have. But it fell short in that it does not decode tones fast enough to capture a simple fax dialing out. The entire purpose of my buying it. I feel giped even though it was only $2.99!! It would only get 2/3rds of the number and not necessarily all in a row.
