I would pay for the subscription if there was interesting material; for example, a content licensing partnership with actual Chinese news and media publishers. 

Instead, all of the content is meaningless imagined scenarios; i.e., “Annie goes to the grocery store,” “I am a cat,” etc. Even if I try, I can’t force myself to be interested in reading it.

Of course, almost everything is locked behind a paywall, but the paid content doesn’t look any more worthwhile than the free material.

With the new flash cards addition where you can review saved words using spaced repetition, this app is hands down the best language learning app period. It has everything, from pinyin, to flashcards containing example sentence usages, to reading. This is your ultimate language learning app. I dreamed of making something like this for myself to learn Chinese and this app has exceeded my expectations.

After running through several different methods, Duolingo, study tools, YouTube lessons, Du Chinese is probably the first app where learning Chinese as a habit is enjoyable. The stories and articles are all original and fit to the correct level ranging from Newbie all the way to Advanced level. Du Chinese also does a nice job of tracking different metrics such as the number of words learned, characters learned as well as new characters/words encountered through your readings. I’m excited to keep using the app to better my Chinese and enjoy the process. Big props to the developers and the content team!

I have subscribed to the annuel plan this week. You can access the content on the web or on the app. There is also an integration with Pleco dictionary.  I am a student and Du Chinese was kind enough to offer me a student discount. I have been reading short stories everyday since I downloaded the app, it’s a game changer for me. The app have a simple UI/UX but the content is gold. I also appreciate that the voice quality is good. 非常感谢

### ***** "A great resource with constant updates"
I started to use Du about a year ago in my spare time. I found it useful to be able to read without checking my dictionary all the time. I also liked to be able to listen to stories in my level.

I really wanted Du chinese to increase the content of stories and they have done just that as well as increasing the content overall.

This shows that the developers care about the content.

When I have more spare time and am done with my formal chinese classes I will be buying Du to read all the new stories and the new master course.

Every thing is excellent except a humble suggestion which I submit herewth that free access to short story is given only for two or three parts which deprives us to read and enjoy the full story.
