When you fall asleep in a state of tension, you wake up in a state of tension. From a yogic point of view, sleep disorders are nervous tension problems usually caused by the mind. The body needs rest. Resting profoundly is the key to acquiring energy: life force. If you don’t sleep properly, your physical and mental bodies won’t rest.
