It is by far the best tower defense game in the app store. Took me forever to find one like this. It has it all: Gore, upgrades, loot drops, talent trees, skills and more. There is no one way to win on each map, you have full customization and choice of loadouts. The game is hard and makes you feel accomplished which makes it super addictive. I played for like 3 hours straight and have maybe uncovered 1/8 of the dungeons available. So much content here giving you hours and hours of replayability. Honestly its the best moneu inthe app store I have spent in along time and i recently bought like 20 games in the app store. Don't be fooled by its pixelated graphics which actually give it more character. If you want a TD game that has rpg and rogue like elements this is a definite buy! AAA+ mobile game and devs.

Tower defence at its best and the experience progression is steady, not stalling. Getting 5k experience at the beginning to 11 million later in the game and still level up is great at keeping the player engaged. 

So many ways to slice an apple (I like cats), you can go back to the same levels and try again with a different combination of traps, skills, and items. Then try your hand at endless mode.

The combinations are endless. 

Caveat: you WILL spend a lot of time playing this game. Just because it is that engaging. 

Best of all: No IAP. Bears repeating: no IAP. Like: buy once, no pay to win formula.

Very satisfying getting stronger traps and trying out the different combinations. Nice level of challenge and lots of little touches like runes to keep it interesting. Best feature is that you can level different traps up or down with no penalty, so there’s no cost to just trying out different arrangements and in the process discovering new cool and lethal combos.

The original was my #1 tower defense game of all time. This one is less streamlined, but trades that for more gameplay options and better replayability. Successful sequel. 

Gripes:
Items are a huge pile of busy work. It’s not fun reconfiguring them before every level, so I never optimize. They should have been cut. 

Skills trees should have something better to work towards. The late-tree skills are not as impressive as just loading up on early-tree skills. Why not make a final skill like “put 30 skill points into this and you can max upgrade all traps, not just one.”?

The goal “rush every wave” is frustrating because if you accidentally miss just one by one second, you have to restart. Feels annoying, not challenging. 

These are all minor complaints. I would expect to pay $15+ for this kind of gameplay. Buy it now!

I’ve been patiently waiting a year now for some DW2 action on my iPad. Paid for it before a review appeared even.

I had a problem with freezing early somehow breaking the app even after resetting it. I rebooted my iPad and everything has been fine since.

If you enjoyed DW1 you’ll enjoy DW2 even more. I like that a ton of traps are available pretty early on and that the maps are generally pretty flexible. You’re not stuck trying to figure out which 3 traps are best for a map.

### ***-- "Good tower defense game, but crashes too much"
Good game, lots of stuff to earn, skill points, items etc..

That stuff is all great, but I'm experiencing some crashes.
At first it was in the tutorial, had to skip it to progress.
I've beaten a few stages, but the game crashes pretty frequently. 

So, enjoyable game when I can play it.
