Eargo Reviews

Totally Understand The Bad Rating: Should Be Worse

Hazelnutz23 on

It’s obvious the owners of this company do zero updates or bug fixes on the app. Someone spends $2800 on their hearing aids, all excited, and go to turn the volume up using the app but every button FREEZES. Literally useless app

Devices good, software terrible

hiodshih on

I really wanted to like these, but after 8 months of ownership the hearing aids have been broken for longer than they have worked. It’s all failures of the app and ability to update and configure. As these are my first hearing aids I don’t know if I am harder on them than most people or maybe my earwax is corrosive like alien blood. But I’m on my third pair in 8 months and each time they fail to connect fail to register and fail to update. I usually wait 1-2 weeks for replacements, another 1-2 weeks to get them to reconnect to the app, then a month or so of usage and then another failure. Too exhausting and time consuming for me. Hire better developers, there are thousands looking for work right now and they are better than whoever is developing your app updates now. I’m going to try and get my money back

Battery Life

Right hearing aid battery life is only 30 minutes - shame on them for making defective products with such a high cost.

Worst hearing on the market

Sent back “defective “ replacements. Low battery after 1 1/2 hrs every time. They have sent 2 more. I am not hopeful. Wish I had gotten a hearing aid from Amazon, can’t be any worse and much cheaper!

Not worth the money

This is my second set. I thought the second set (Eargo 7) would have improved technology, no so. Battery life is about 6 hours in one and about 8 or 9 in the other. Max level has high pitched screeching. Hearing is not much improved. Would not recommend

Never again!

This device does not have a long life battery, and it has feedback. You can barely understand what’s being said because of the feedback. I have tried to return these but, I’ve not had much success which that. No response from customer service. I have been a happy customer with Eargo products for over 5 years and NEVER have I experienced any problematic situations until now.

Terrible battery life and other issues

PMB MD on

This is a review from a one year user and someone who previously had a high quality over the ear aid for 14 years (Oticon). The rating is increased to two stars due to ease of use and invisibly. The quality of the sound amplification varies and there is no mid-range frequency amplification, just bass and treble. When the treble is increased, it combines high frequencies into a screech. I have done the sound test three times. BTW, my wife gives Eargo a zero. “What do you like about those hearing aids, they don’t work.” That said, the biggest issue is poor battery life. By 6 months, the “expected” duration had gone from 16 hours to 12 and now 6-8. You have to decide when during your waking hours you choose to be deaf. I recently had an evaluation with a professional audiologist and was fitted with a state of the art Oticon. Night and day. It is more expensive but they last more than half a year (many year warranty) and you can actually hear any frequency without distortion. The bluetooth connection is also a huge plus for using your cell phone. The old adage, you get what you pay for certainly applies here. I wish I could be more positive.

I really like this app. They kept it simple enough for anyone to use and did not over complicate it. Everything you need is right there. Straight forward and no nonsense!!
