I purchased this app because it was the option given for a specific book I wanted to purchase. I wish I could’ve selected a different app. The bookmark is super annoying. It doesn’t stay on the page I’d bookmarked when I exit the app and so every time I go back to continue reading, I have to keep scrolling through all the pages trying to remember where I left off.
This app seems stuck in 2008. One could forgive the poor user interface but it is hard to suffer through its inability to keep track of the page you were reading when you lock your phone.
This app spoils my reading pleasure as it never save the page. When you bookmark a page it shows it listed, however it only ever takes you back to page 1 I am using an ipad mini.
The app seems ok, but whenever I re-open a book or look at a footnote, it returns me to the beginning of a chapter (if I’m lucky). Frequently losing my page like that is not an enjoyable way to read a book. The situation is not good when I’m even able to say that “paper would be better”. It unfortunate that buying books through this store locks me in to this reader. It pushes me to use other electronic book stores instead.
Font resize doesn’t work. Please fix or refund my books.
Most annoying thing about using this app is words being cut off at the end of the line and continuing onto the next line. Really needs updating to make more user friendly.
As the ‘app shop’ app screens already shows: the visual design of the eBook reader seems to hark back to the 90s. And so does the usability interface. I used the reader on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and on that screen the book I bought was hard to read, despite me trying to choose different fonts. I don’t have these problems with Apple Books or the Kindle. One annoying feature was that the words at the end of a line were simply cut. Not even into syllables but severed wherever the line ended. For example: “evocative” had an ‘e’ at the end of a text line and the ‘vocative’ at the beginning of the next line. That’s not what should expect when I buy an eBook. eBook.com doesn’t seem to want its customers to use their reader. It’s default option is using the browser to read. It also doesn’t offer downloads in common ebook formats that, for example would allow reading the book in Books or other ebook readers. Based on all of these experiences, the only book I bought from eBook.com is the last one. Despite having paid for it I re-bought it on Books (rather than Amazon) and trashed the reader.
This must be the worst reader available.No zooming can be done and the letters are extremely small! Very difficult to read.
This app is so unfriendly and extremely difficult to use. I hate it. Sooooo frustrating.
