## EBS Authenticator Description
The EBS Authenticator app allows you to pair your mobile device in order to securely log into EBS Your Accounts Online.

From August 2019 onwards, when you login to your online banking, you will be asked for additional security details, as well as your current log on details. 

This extra security layer is to apply what is known as Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and helps fight fraud and further protect your online banking and payments. You will need a one time activation code from us to setup the app for SCA.

Here is what you need to do:
1. Download this EBS Authenticator app. 
2. Open the EBS Authenticator app. You will be prompted on screen to enter your Customer ID number and Personal Access Code (PAC) as normal, followed by the 6-digit one time activation code which we send to you by post.

Once you have done this you’ll be able to complete SCA at login and use EBS Your Accounts Online.

Despite using apps for every other bank in Ireland , I could not pair my phone for this app. The “IT” person could not help and suggested that I delete google safari and try again. Which I did. 50 attempts later it’s still not paired and I’ve been told I’m doing something wrong or it’s my phones settings fault

It is what it is you log in online and your verify via the app on your phone. It works perfectly with the very rare exception when you have to trying logging in again.

Despite the staff on the phone being extremely helpful and nice I just cannot seem to access my account and have to resort to driving to my branch for help. Five phone calls down. This service is not user friendly and despite the fact that I know we need to be security aware I’m not sure how anyone could access my account as I can’t even with all the relevant security questions answered! Frustrating to say the least !

I cannot understand why I have to pair a device, when I already have user id and pin, but the website won’t let me use the keyboard without pairing. Then if you don’t enter the otp key quickly enough, you have to wait 30 minutes for another one. Otherwise you get locked out.
I have bank accounts with several other institutions and I don’t have any problem with them. EBS needs to update their systems and stop giving grief. I’m seriously thinking of closing my accounts and placing my money elsewhere.

Changed phone, Authentication App doesn’t recognise new phone, needed another 6 digit code, told to login online and request new code. Just keep getting looped back to FAQ’s !! Absolutely no help at all!! Very frustrating!!!

Randomly unpairs itself and login notifications are hit and miss.
Come on EBS there is no reason for this terrible app, every other bank sends an SMS containing a code.
I’m currently locked out of my account while waiting for yet another pairing code to arrive by post.
