## ECHO Smart Control Description
The CURT Echo™ (#51180) is a Bluetooth-enabled, mobile brake control that allows you to control and monitor the activity of your trailer brakes using your smartphone and this downloadable app. The device simply plugs in between the vehicle-trailer 7-way wiring connection and uses Bluetooth to sync with your phone.
Download the Smart Control app to set up your smartphone as the trailer brake control interface for the CURT Echo™. With it you can adjust maximum braking power and sensitivity while towing. It also shows diagnostic information like overload conditions and trailer-disconnect errors. For added control and safety while towing, the Smart Control app provides a button to manually override braking and activate the trailer brakes whenever necessary.
With the compact design and plug-and-play installation of the CURT Echo™, it is a highly portable brake control. It is designed to be easily transferred from one vehicle-trailer combination to another. As such, the app allows you to store up to five user profiles, each with its own personalized settings.
The Smart Control app does not need to be open for the CURT Echo™ mobile brake control to function normally. The app can be closed, and the Echo™ will use the previously selected profile settings to determine maximum braking and brake aggressiveness.

## ECHO Smart Control Reviews in United States

### *---- "don't buy!!!"
so many warnings that reconnecting is dangerous. stay safe and have a pro install a proper brake control.
-- hmmhmm...., 2025-07-11

### ***** "Super!"
Works great, super easy to use!
-- DannyWilliamT, 2025-03-04

### *---- "Company should be sued"
The amount of safety concerns introduced by the app is beyond the pale. This company should be sued into oblivion for such recklessness and putting people's lives in danger. Zero response from Curt, disgusting and shameful.
-- Gaboy1, 2024-12-08

### *---- "At least it worked!"
No longer usable due to new APP.
This APP worked. New OneControl auto APP will not let me install/ setup completely. So? Not usable.
-- Drwmstr, 2024-05-14

### ***-- "Get us this app back!!!!"
Your new app doesn’t work! My echo is now useless and I can’t use my trailer because of this update. Shame on you.
-- sonox12345, 2024-05-08

### *---- "App forces me to migrate to an inferior app"
Been using this app for years with my Curt Echo. I have been very happy with its function and ease of use.
Today I went to tow and was forced to the new OneDrvie app. First it was difficult set up taking 15 min at least. Then it insists I share my location to work. I don’t want that!!!! Then it looks like it has a million feature, which I do not need or want, thus it is not straightforward to Use for my simple application. Why?????
-- kinderelk, 2024-05-01

### *---- "Echo"
Crappy app won’t even let me see the dashboard freeze up at the accept button $300 bucks and the app is trash
-- Jeep camping, 2024-04-27

### ****- "Need to make compatible with Car Play"
Need to make compatible with car play so I don’t have to look at my phone
-- Angi Wiley, 2024-04-21

### *---- "Not happy"
Used to work great. But since the update it is dangerous !!!!!
-- Disappointed here, 2024-03-07

### *---- "App no longer works"
Forced to move to another app and this one does not work. New app forces registration, and setting up again.
