No support. Finally got this app to work. Connected it via wifi. It won’t work without internet. Worked fine for 2 weeks. Now it has disconnected & will NOT reconnect. Jaycar should not be recommending this product
Pity you have to leave at least one star to leave a review. My rating is ZERO! What a piece of rubbish- do not waste your time.
First install ECO Solar from the App Store on your mobile but do not open it just yet! Then go to your iPhone Settings WiFi Network and look for ProvistaSolar_XXXXXX and select it to join it on your mobile. If you can not find Provista go to your Solar Controller’s (VOLTECH SCP030 in my case) WiFi settings and turn it off and then turn back on (or restart the device). Now open ECO Solar app and you should be able to join the Provista WiFi. Then you should be Online in the ECO Solar app and see the PV Battery and Load voltages etc. The instruction manual which come with ECO Solar was not very helpful and needs to re-written so it can be understood!
Seems nothing has changed with this app in 12 months. I got it connected via iCloud but it soon disconnected and haven’t been able to reconnect charge controller again since. It’s a shame because it would be great thing to see if it worked, but it’s just like many things now I guess “ looks good when you buy but absolutely no help can be found when it doesn’t work”.
Instructions that came with my device, to set up device to cloud is so vague I can’t understand it or get it to connect. Is the corresponding device my home wifi or the phone. How do I set this up…..
Cloud server appears to be down , can’t login can’t even sign up, can’t download firmware update and can’t connect to Solar controller locally, also if you purchased the 20A Powertech controller it says on the packaging that it has integrated wifi but this is NOT TRUE, you will not be able to connect, sorry if you just purchased the 30A or 50A controller, you just wasted your money 👎🏻 0 stars
I’ve got mine to work. There are a couple of bugs. In System Settings, it says the controller is set for Lithium when I actually have Standard physically set at the controller. Who do you believe? I’ve had to take a chance that the controller is right and the app is wrong. Apart from that, once you sit down and set things up, then jump in and out of the settings and re-launch the app a few times, eventually the Cloud interface starts working. Only thing is that the WiFi on the controller goes up and down and then is down forever after 24 hours. Bluetooth doesn’t seem to be installed in the MP3745 which is probably why Local doesn’t work except for the very first time when the controller is in Access Point mode, so you can find the controller through the app to set up access to your router. (username and password etc.) After this is done, it eventually starts syncing and the app is then launched in Cloud mode from then on. The problem then is getting the controller to actually stay online, evidenced by the flashing wifi icon on the controller screen. Mine completely died within 24 hours.
If you are new to solar DO NOT BUY THIS CHARGER . There is no instructions how how to use it in the box, the app is horrendous and does not work. There is no help icons . I wish I didn’t buy this charger
The app keeps asking for microphone permission every time the app is opened. Why does a solar appliance app need microphone permission???
