eDrawings® is the only CAD viewer on iPad, iPad mini, iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to view native eDrawings files as well as native SolidWorks® parts, assemblies and drawings files. In addition, eDrawings allows convenient viewing of DWG and DXF files.

eDrawings includes Augmented Reality (AR). This allows you to view your 3D models in 1:1 scale into the real world. By simply activating the device’s camera, you can bring your virtual 3D designs in a real context and see them in situ, sitting on your desk or on your conference room table or even in the palm of your hand, through your iPad, Pad mini, iPhone or iPod Touch’s screen. Move around the room and see your design from any perspective.

eDrawings is the email-enabled communication tool that dramatically eases sharing of product design information. You can load and send files via email to collaborate more effectively with everyone involved in product development, including people who are not regular CAD software users to interpret and understand 2D and 3D designs.

Multi-touch gestures let you pan, zoom, and rotate models easily. eDrawings also supports configurations, drawing sheets, and exploded views for eDrawings files published from SolidWorks® and all other supported CAD software.

AR needs improving

Whilst cool this app needs updated to utilise Apples more efficient ARKit. Look at the app by Solidhaus. That uses the ARkit render AR models. It doesn’t need a QR target and works well. Drawings needs to be as good as that.

Imports with all dimensions showing

Saved an eDrawing in solidworks, opens on my pc fine but when opening on iPad or iPhone the models has all the model dimensions showing with no way of hiding them. This make it unusable!

Cannot open personal files

No way to open personal files from cloud storage or from emails. Can only access example files.

too slow for general use on 2D draft sight drawings- gave up on it

Does not function correctly

Although the sample files load in fine, the buttons to load in your own files do not appear to function.

Doesn't work

I've used solid works for 6 years now so I'm familiar with models, parts and assemblies and thought this app would be a nice addition. However , opening any assemblies I've created and sent to the phone, they simply do not show. The samples work fine. Rubbish. Refund please.

Good

All I needed was to open a DXF from my email app and view it, where other viewers failed even the ones proclaiming to be all that, this worked right away. Solid works support too, what more can you want?

Downloaded this and found it worked well and good value for money. Using on iphone 6+ so models are clear and easy to zoom pan rotate. Only down side i found was that you could not file the models anywhere.. They are just in one long list. After a day i up graded to edawings pro so that i could section and measure and rotate. Not sure it is worth the extra and there is no upgrade saving route from edrawings to edrawings pro. You have to pay full price for pro. Overall would still recommend for anyone who needs to reference models without carrying a lap top.

Rubbish

Downloaded and installed without any problems. The edrawing opened and only displayed a blank window. Not impressed.

Works perfectly

A little surprised that I had to pay for this when the iPad version is FOC, but still pretty cheap. Works perfectly with my SolidWorks2014 files. Admittedly, it's all rather diddly on such a small screen but it's still nice to be able to use the phone just do a quick look-see.
