## Ellen Reid SOUNDWALK Description
Ellen Reid SOUNDWALK is a GPS-enabled work of public art that uses music to illuminate the natural environment. Created by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and sound artist Ellen Reid, SOUNDWALK is user-guided: the path you choose dictates the music you hear, and no two visits will be exactly the same.

IT’S A SIMPLE AS:
1) Install the free app
2) Download a SOUNDWALK
3) Put on your headphones
4) Press ‘start’
5) Explore

A note from composer Ellen Reid:
“I encourage everyone to make repeated visits throughout the year, to experience how weather, light, and music can change our perception of these landscapes and environments. Most of all, I hope people will take a moment away from the bustle of our hyper-connected world to enjoy the beauty of public parks, and to spend some quality time immersed in nature."

## Ellen Reid SOUNDWALK Reviews in United States

### ***** "Incredible experience!"
I have tried this in several of the parks and it’s always unique and always wonderful!
-- mellomaniac, 2024-10-17

### ***** "Stunning"
Stunning. Would love this in more places — such a moving way to see the world anew.

### ***** "Regent Park: Ellen Reid Sound Walk is Revelatory!!"
I was on a quick visit to London and I needed sometime to clear my head so I went to Regent Park and decided to turn on this app Sound Walk. It was recommended by a friend and I am so glad I chose it. It was such an amazing experience to hear the sounds of this brilliant artist narrate my first major visit to the park in over ten years. It made the nature and beauty of the park come a live in a way that I had yet to experience (without hallucinogens). At some point, I felt like the tress and flowers were dancing in a rhythm synced with the conductors music. The music created this immersive artistic experience that I truly got lost in. I live in New York, so I definitely plan on using this through my jaunts in Central Park. What an ingenious idea - synching one form of art (music) with another (nature)? Thank you Ellen Reid’s Sound Walk!

### ***** "Mind blown in Regent’s Park"
Wow I just did a soundwalk in regents park and was totally blown away. This is an AMAZING project. The whole experience was so beautiful and seamless. I feel fully restored. I highly recommend!!!

### **--- "Update — It’s back!!"
Apparently this is NOT the same app that was released a decade ago by different artists. Confusing. I was in love with this when it was originally released in 2011 (I believe under the name ‘Listen to the Light’). The music feels a bit different but it’s still the same park :) It was once again amazing to feel how music and landscape can interact to do magical things.

### ***** "Pleasure House Park"
Pleasure House Park was amazing! So peaceful and the music was the perfect addition! I will be back soon
-- camcamhowee, 2021-11-18

### ***** "Spa State Park, Saratoga Springs"
This experience took me around my park (that I know & love so well) in a new way, coaxing me in directions and paths I don’t typically gravitate to. It was a beautiful way to explore the park and see/learn something new about it. Thank you for inciting exploration!
-- Alana MG, 2021-09-16

### *---- "Software crush"
This app crushes every single time when I try to download the music. After I re-open it, the downloading progress stuck at 0% and never change! I am pretty disappointed!
-- anonymity1180, 2021-09-12

### *---- "Terrible"
Doesn’t work until by golf course.
Terrible sound
