It is gorgeous. It is a cooperative multiplayer game, rather than a PvP game. You not only have a choice of race (elf or human), you have a choice of peaceful trade or armed conquest. This is quite unique. I love these aspects of the game. Now, the bad: it is highly pay to win. It’s a gacha game. Indeed, it is really pay to play, because if you don’t drop some real money, the game experience is not going to be a good one. Inno has monetized player frustration, so expect to be purposely frustrated at every turn. There are MUST HAVE buildings that you as a new player will never have unless you are willing to pay hundreds of dollars. It is also anti-newbie. They have constant events, back-to-back and overlapping. Not long after you first start, you will be encouraged to participate in an event. You will be given a few event points to spend. It will seem fun. Then you will be offered to BUY event points. DON’T DO IT! Because fairly soon after that, you will be given an event quest that is considerably more advanced than you are in the game. And your progress in the event (that you just spent money on) WILL COME TO A HALT. Further, unless you are into violence against women, or animals, do NOT watch their ads. While it is true it actually gives me a look at how far I’ve come. It takes me multiple days to continue in the research and I proud of it. The slow down really seems like they are trying to get you to improve instead of just making you spend money (I’m on chapter 9 and haven’t paid a single penny). It’s addicting and I love playing it. And there’s a new chapter coming (Chapter 21) and it seems like it will be amazing. Then, in later chapters, it has gotten so difficult to make any progress at all and virtually impossible to expand my city without fighting my way through many many dozens of encounters for every single tile. I think the rate of which I got one new tile in my city got down to once every six months at most. I honestly would've rather paid a small subscription fee then constantly being pestered with pop-ups related to "one time only!" purchase opportunities another freemium tactics. What used to be an enchanting experience has become utterly vile. It makes me sad that I wasted so much time playing this game to end up feeling this way. I strongly recommend it for those in no hurry and who want a calm city building game. This has what I like about many games, without the things I don’t like. I don’t get attacked and half my city demolished. I can calmly and slowly collect resources and build my city without threat. What combat there is, is with NPC and not rapid, so I don’t need the reflexes of a 14 year old. You are not going to be able to win this game in a few months. Each level or section takes increasingly more resources and longer to complete; which is why I’ve been playing for years. You don’t need to spend money, but I think the developers deserve their pay, so I’ve thrown a few bucks in, especially during sales. It’s not pvp oriented and that is my biggest plus. It also doesn’t push you as hard to spend as many games. It doesn’t force you to also play mini games you don’t need or want. My only complaint is the space..yes you need to strategize but how can you when they force you to use a building that takes up a whole expanse? Or if you need to upgrade it takes up bigger space.many fellowships demand you also only produce what they want and you get nothing to research with garbage. No thanks.
