Great reader
The UI could be bit better, but overall experience is great. Finally, I can read and annotate my references in my iPad in a native application. I used to use Mendeley, but since they removed their client from the App Store, using their web interface was rather a nightmare. EndNote provides me exactly with what I need. Plus support for Apple Pencil is a nice benefit.
Average UX
While it does some things well, like allowing you to view your references, downloading references from websites is clunky and so is downloading pdfs to attach to a reference. The worst though is the pdf viewer/editor which is confusing. There are two annotation pallets, depending on how you pull the function up. Secondly, the thumbnail/page selector is at the bottom of the screen meaning closing the app changes the page you're on so I have to find my page each time I close the app. So annoying!
Sync is terrible
sync doubles all my groups and references. To be fair I have the same problem on the desktop version sometimes. I genuinely can’t believe this is a software which needs to be bought considering the amount of bugs I have run into by only trying to use basic features.
Simply unusable
The app refuses to recognise me. Can’t believe I paid so much for Endnote 20 and yet cannot access through my iPad
Sign in broken
Signing in has stopped working. Very annoying.
Never been so disappointed in an app
Serious issues with compatibility with other software, file types, logging into IEEEXplore, etc. Wasted time.
Frustrating - sync problems
When I first downloaded the app it worked really well - I like the annotation and underline features when reading papers. BUT when I added new references and clicked ‘sync’ they didn’t show up in my library on iPad which makes it a bit useless really. It was SO good at first, please sort out the sync issues!
Not user friendly
Challenging to install on my laptop and now I have it on my iPad it wouldn’t let me create an account, error message of password should contain letters which it obviously did. Get rid.
Unreliable
Completely fails to replicate a full set of references. Every interaction I have with the app makes me nervous that it will trash my library.
