## Enso Looper Description
Enso is a looper. Not a phrase sampler, not a beat slicer: a real looper, built in the image of the pedal loopers and reel-to-reel tape systems that defined the form, then extended well past what hardware can do. Press one button and it records; press it again and you are looping. Up to five minutes of stereo audio, host-synced or free-running.

The play and record heads are completely decoupled, each with its own through-zero speed control from -4x to +4x. Play backwards at half speed while overdubbing forwards at double, and things get strange in the best way. Four sectors give you separate loop regions to crossfade between and overdub within, and a built-in effects section (tape-style saturation and hiss, filters, and chorus) can sit in the feedback path so your loop ages like tape with every pass.
Enso runs as an AUv3 plugin in your favorite host, and includes a standalone mode for sketching.

- Independent play and record heads: through-zero speed from -4x to +4x on each, with selectable increment and decrement values.
- Dub In Place: work like a traditional digital looper, or like a tape looper with the effects and speed changes in the feedback path.
- Sector crossfading: define four start and end points, crossfade between them, and overdub or re-record within them.
- Effects section: tape-style saturation and hiss, high- and low-pass filters, and a stereo chorus.
- MIDI Slice mode: play your loop from a MIDI controller, automatically sliced into 4 to 16 equal pieces.
- Full MIDI CC implementation: an assignable MIDI CC page covers most of the looping engine, tuned for foot control.
- Auto RTZ: automatically return to zero at a chosen interval to keep loose material in sync.
- Cross-platform preset format: XML presets that can store the buffer, compatible with the desktop version of Enso.

It could be an amazing looper...but...too many issues...i hit rec and wont record..i have to unloaded and loaded back a few times and sometimes it will eventually work...to make it more infuriating...that means i have to redo all midi mappings! Arghh!...but...when i get it to work its great! Please fix this! Thanks

I want to love this looper so bad. I have tried so00oOO many times (iPad Pro 2010 & now M2) to give it another shot but there is always something off with it. I saved presets (with audio buffer) to reopen sessions later and the timing is off after playing a while??? The worst is when you finally get a good take but it crashes before you can save it and ALL IS LOST!?!  I guess this isn’t made for what I’m using it for and need to repurpose it somewhere else. Hopefully some bugs get worked out and I can go back to using it..

Absolutely amazing , creative looper that can be adjusted to match many workflows. Like many high end plug ins, to get the most out of the looper it may take a few YouTube tutorials but is pretty easy to just start getting lost in loops. This is one of those apps I can easily get lost creating a field of random gestural sounds that can later be further processed and sampled. Love the ability to change both the record direction, play direction, speed, fade etc. I can’t believe I can take this with me in my pocket or on the iPad. Insane.

### *---- "Abandoned app!, developer refuses to update it! Crashes ALL the time"
Beware! this is an abandoned app as their developers refuse to update it after almost 3 years since released! it lacks the basic functions of any looper which are Undo and Redo!, on my M1 iPad on iOS 16 this crashes a lot and developers do not respond to any email for support and they refuse to refund my money!, the app had a lot of potential but it’s super buggy, get any other looper app and avoid this one!

Ive tried this looper on both my ipad 8 and iphone xr in Audio Bus 3 and on both devices Im getting instant crashes when I try to control it via midi. I tried emailing support twice starting in late June and haven’t received a response from them. 
If you don’t need to control it via midi its great. Unfortunately I need to be able to control the app in the background. Without midi control the app is unusable for me.
