Why Ente Photos?

Ente Photos is designed for those who truly value their memories. With end-to-end encryption and secure backups in three locations, your photos stay truly private and safe. Powerful on-device AI helps you find faces and objects instantly, while curated stories bring cherished memories to the present. Share encrypted albums with loved ones, invite family at no extra cost, and lock sensitive images with a password. Available on mobile, desktop, and web, Ente preserves every pixel of your photos and videos.

Features:

END-TO-END ENCRYPTED STORAGE: Your photos and videos are encrypted on your device, and then automatically backed up to the cloud.

SHARE AND COLLABORATE: Let your family or friends add photos and videos to your albums. Everything, end-to-end encrypted.

RELIVE YOUR MEMORIES: Through the stories Ente curates for you, relive your memories from previous years. Easily spread the cheer by sharing them with your loved ones or friends.

SEARCH FOR ANYONE AND ANYTHING: Using on-device AI, Ente helps you find faces and key elements in a photo, so you can search through your entire library using natural language search.

INVITE YOUR FAMILY: Invite up to 5 family members to any paid plan at no extra cost. Only your storage space is shared, not your data. Each member will receive their own private space.

AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE: Ente Photos is available on every platform, so you can access your photos and videos from any device you have.

NEVER LOSE YOUR PHOTOS: Ente stores your encrypted backups in 3 secure locations—including an underground facility—so your photos stay safe, no matter what.

EASY IMPORT: Use our powerful desktop app to import data from other providers. If you need any help moving, reach out, and we'll be there.

ORIGINAL QUALITY BACKUPS: All photos and videos are stored in their original quality, including the metadata, without any compression or loss in quality.

APP LOCK: Make sure no one else can see your photos and videos using the built in App Lock. You can set a pin, or use biometrics to lock the app only for yourself.

HIDDEN PHOTOS: Hide your most private photos and videos to the Hidden folder, which is password protected by default.

FREE DEVICE SPACE: Free up your device's space by clearing files that have already been backed, in a single click.

COLLECT PHOTOS: Went to a party and want to collect all the photos in one place? Just share a link with your friends and ask them to upload.

PARTNER SHARING: Share your camera album with your partner so they can automatically see your photos on their device.

LEGACY: Allow trusted contacts to access your account in your absence.

DARK & LIGHT THEMES: Choose the mode that will make your photos pop.

ADDITIONAL SECURITY: Turn on two-factor authentication or set a lock-screen for the app.

OPEN-SOURCE AND AUDITED: Ente Photos’s code is open-source, and has been audited by third-party security experts.

## Ente Photos Reviews in United States

### ***** "Gooood"
It's a great choice for storing Live Photos. While other apps can store Live Photos, they often result in distorted images. Ente solves this problem perfectly, providing the same photo-taking experience as iOS. The 10GB of free storage is more than enough for the average user.
-- 高速飞翔的牡丹花, 2025-10-13

### **--- "Seems nice but disappointed"
It prompts for you to buy more storage even though the storage isn’t full. It gives you 10GB free which is okay. It filled up to 10.03GB pretty quickly so you make space I deleted over an hours worth of videos from the ente folder (not the “on device folder)” and it still says it’s at 10.03GB even though it hasn’t backed up anything else. Yes, I went to the trash folder to make sure to permanently delete. Same result. I already have an external hard drive so I’m not overly pressed about buying more storage. The $2.99 seems reasonable enough, I just don’t like feeling like I’m being played or lied to over it. There’s no way the forage hasn’t budged after that delete. It’s that reason why I’m going to opt out of buying a larger plan. I’ll use this for quick photos that I don’t want to take up space but I still want on my phone (if it lets me), but if I want more space I’ll just use my external hard drive or buy another one.

### ***** "Privacy Matters"
Privacy respecting app/service for your photos with advanced features that’s open source!
-- libvirt, 2025-10-03

### **--- "All was going good until…"
When I try to watch videos on the iPad app, there is rapid flashing patterns. I know some apps will have bugs, but this is one that should be avoided at all costs! This bug would need an epilepsy warning for those sensitive to flashing lights.
-- JJAwesomeness65, 2025-08-31

-- Andryfedorov, 2025-08-15

### ***** "Thank you Ente!!"
Finally a company who wants to do photos the right way. The app is amazing, so easy, handles any stop in uploading pictures perfectly.

There are obvious improvements to make but all the basics & even some advanced features are there.

I wish there was more competition in this space.

Google photos & others like it are scary.
-- Bob likes fishing, 2025-08-11

### ***** "Surprisingly Good"
This is probably the best Photos app that I’ve ever used thats also 100% private. The only thing it wish it had would be more themed color options and a cute App icon featuring the adorable duck. Otherwise 5/5.
-- Fritzroyw, 2025-07-29

### ***** "A fantastic replacement for any similar service"
With the added security benefits and privacy protections. I hope Ente continues to lead the way with such privacy and security features as their top priorities. 🤞🤳
-- NurseWayWay, 2025-07-09

### **--- "Buggy"
I love that this app is a good alternative to google or amazon photos. It has end to end encryption. Though this app is very buggy, frequently randomly closing or marking my daily spotlights as invited after they were reviewed.
-- StarsSaphire, 2025-07-01

### ***** "Great everywhere but price"
Love the app. The focus on privacy and not being tied to google or apple however when you compare prices it is kind of rough comparatively. However as a user of EnteAuth I want to do my part in supporting a company with a privacy focus.
