When your horse is in trouble, every minute matters. This app gives horse owners clear, veterinarian-approved guidance to help you recognize what’s an emergency, what needs a vet soon, and what you can safely monitor at home. Designed by equine professionals, it’s an essential tool for anyone who cares for horses — from first-time owners to lifelong equestrians. Simply choose the category that matches your horse’s symptoms — such as colic, lameness, eye injuries, wounds, foaling complications, poisonings, respiratory issues, neurological behavior, fever, or skin reactions — and follow the step-by-step prompts. Based on your selections, the app provides one of three recommendations: - Monitor — Safe to watch at home, but know what changes to look for. - Make an Appointment — Contact your vet during regular hours for further care. - Emergency — Call Vet — Immediate veterinary attention is needed. Each recommendation includes detailed next steps you can take right away — from how to safely confine your horse and collect vital signs, to what information to share when you call your vet. You’ll also find practical, easy-to-understand tips and videos to help you stay calm, prepared, and effective in a crisis. Whether you’re dealing with a mild fever, a suspicious wound, a colic episode, or a life-threatening emergency, this app helps you make informed decisions quickly and confidently. It’s not a replacement for veterinary care; it helps you know when to call and what to say. Key Features: - Simple decision-tree based on real symptoms - Clear, veterinarian-written instructions for immediate action - Vital signs reference and monitoring tips - Helpful videos and practical safety advice - Coverage of nearly all major equine emergencies Give yourself peace of mind and your horse the best chance for a positive outcome. With the Equine Emergency Vet Care Guide, you’ll always know what to do next — when every second counts. ## Equine Emergency Vet Care App Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/de/fd/f2/defdf25f-634c-53e7-8167-3a631d16b1ae/Logo@3x.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/76/03/48/760348f9-52fd-00d7-c927-6e69045906bd/2.1_Home_Screen@3x.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/0a/2b/48/0a2b484d-cc36-dd1e-fab8-7c0274566275/2.2_How_it_works@3x.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/02/e4/5b/02e45bae-d15d-0450-5d2b-fd3fa34054d1/Fever.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/bb/5b/c1/bb5bc146-d579-2cd6-43da-706921e7beb6/6.3_Temp_101.6_-_102.5.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/43/56/8e/43568e8a-0026-0189-51b6-a22a2239a383/Colic.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 7](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/a8/9b/ef/a89bef71-edd6-2366-1680-270bd87faf3f/4.4_Rolling_U002c_up_and_down_U002c_pawing.png/1242x2688.png) ## Equine Emergency Vet Care App Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 11 (92%) - 4 stars: 0 (0%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 1 (8%) ## Equine Emergency Vet Care App Reviews in United States ### ***** "Minimize Uncertainty" A great, straightforward tool backed by expert knowledge to assess urgency and first steps. Helpful video links and sorted by primary symptoms. Recommend to all horse owners and care providers. -- ShogunShoNuff, 2026-01-03 ### ***** "Great Resource" Love this app! It is super easy to use and is full of great information. A must have app for any level of horse owner! -- Lyndsey87, 2026-01-02 ### ***** "Must Have App" As a horse owner this app might be the most valuable one on your phone! If you have ever owned a horse you have questioned whether or not to call the vet at least once in your life. This app will help you navigate even the toughest of horse hijinks. -- Magnolia Nip, 2026-01-02 ### ***** "A straightforward app for the least straightforward animal known to man" A very easy to use app, when you need some advice and don’t want to bug your beloved vet unless absolutely necessary. -- ghekman, 2026-01-01 ### ***** "This App is Just Exactly What Every Horse Person Needs!" Justin Long and Dr. Lacher have set up this app to be so easy to follow use. Their explicit and succinct step-by-step directions will assist you to to determine whether you need to call the emergency veterinarian right now, make an appointment for later, or monitor your horses’s behavior on you own. I like the “How it Works” instructional section and the color coding depicting your initial response. The explanations describing what to do are well-written with “how to” detail so that the experienced horse people as well as beginners and accidental horse people (like me) will be able to read and follow the directions. The video links are icing on the cake. Watching the videos adds an additional layer of understanding to the written descriptions. I love how Dr. Lacher is so calm, professional, and knowledgeable in the videos. She sounds so kind and reassuring. All the people and their horses who have Dr. Lacher for their equine veterinarian are so lucky. One evening a couple years ago, I dithered around for more than four hours with that “vague sense of unease” trying to decide if my horse’s mildly lethargic, not eating, just not normal behavior was a good enough reason to call my veterinarian. I finally called around 10:00 PM. The veterinarian came out to my barn and completed an exam and provided treatment for my horse. The diagnosis was colitis. By then it was close to midnight. If I would have had this app back then, I would have called immediately and avoided hours of fretting, worry, and extended pain for my horse. Just in case you didn’t know, Justin and Dr. Lacher also have the absolute best horse-related podcast in the whole world, Straight From the Horse Doctor’s Mouth. They have just completed the eighth year of their highly educational and entertaining podcast. Eight Years! Eight years of 24 episodes per year! And every episode is so interesting , informative, as well as entertaining. Sometimes they have guest speakers too. I could listen to them talk all day. The episodes are so good and filled with pertinent information. I listen to episodes multiple times. You can also check out their Springhill Equine Veterinary Hospital website in addition to their YouTube channel. This app and their other sites are all highly educational and informative. The Equine Emergency Vet Care app is a “must have” for every horse person! -- BAW27217, 2025-12-31 ### ***** "Excellent" I wonder if it’s possible to make this a requirement for every person buying their first horse, and every regular horse owner, we can’t all know it all!! It’s very informative, and since it’s made by vets, you know it’s accurate. It’s easy to read, understand, and you know when you are over thinking and when you need to call your vet (that you hopefully have a great relationship with!). Horses have so many issues, and this is a good step to use to help us keep them alive. I’m hoping I won’t ever need to use it. -- 24681TD, 2025-12-30 ### ***** "Enjoying the Equine Medical Advice" This app is a very user friendly means of looking up veterinary advice regarding equines. The explanations are clear and the app provides links to helpful YouTube videos for detailed visuals. Thanks for all this easy to access and useful information 😊 -- LMBBR, 2025-12-30 ### ***** "Very useful!" Stop posting your horse’s symptoms on random FB groups and get this app! Developed with vet input - lets you know if it’s something you can just monitor and treat yourself or if it’s an emergency. -- Jackie MM., 2025-12-30 [View all Equine Emergency Vet Care App reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Equine Emergency Vet Care App Store Rankings | Chart | Country | Category | Rank | |-------|---------|----------|------| | Top Paid | United States | Medical | #18 | ## Equine Emergency Vet Care App Discovered Keywords - equine emergency vet care app ## Equine Emergency Vet Care App Available In - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/equine-emergency-vet-care-app-juZx/united-states) - [Canada](https://apptail.io/app/equine-emergency-vet-care-app-juZx/canada) - [United Kingdom](https://apptail.io/app/equine-emergency-vet-care-app-juZx/united-kingdom) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
