Very excited for it to come out, but the game lacks the fun 80s mania provided. The morale system is terrible, shard system is horrific. As someone who is willing to pay for a game they enjoy, it would take hundreds of dollars to open up the flexibility you had in the other games. This new game, although looks amazing, can only be played in a non repetitive way unless you spend real money, not earned coins. And it is very expensive to acquire coins - seems quite greedy. The shards?….it would take YEARS to acquire them all with only receiving so few at a time. I hate to use this expression, but the game seems like a cash grab. I hope developers take notice and understand that prices to acquire wrestlers is too expensive. I’d like to play the territory fed - it’s going to either take years of playing to get even enough wrestlers to be able to use or spend a ton of money. UPDATE - I posted this on Facebook and the developer’s response was very rude and passive aggressive -- BDM4233, 2026-03-04 ### ****- "Very good, still working on balancing" As someone who played the two previous games and in total had over 100yrs worth of booking between them. I prefer this games way of unlocking new wrestlers. It feels more of a big deal for each signing. I try to make segments as best as possible and I have yet to get a 4* show. I’ve had 5* matches infrequently after several (5-7) in game years. As such this entry feel far more “grindy “ collecting in game cash. I am happy with the daily, weekly rewards system. I would suggest that the tasks for daily be more in depth than being able to check off in less than 5mins and have the reward reflect the added difficulty. Many of us fans anxiously waited this games release and the devs have been patching frequently, so I have faith the balance will adjust a little more but making less than 3000 a month makes it feel “pay to play” to unlock wrestlers, segments, venues etc. I expect this game to become a 5 star game before the games 1st anniversary -- Hanson224, 2026-03-03 ### ***** "Checkmate does it again" If you are now or have ever been a fan of professional wrestling you will likely enjoy this game. -- Phukaloo, 2026-03-03 ### **--- "Question?" I have like 6 or 7 wrestlers for a whole show instead of everything I’m suppose to have -- 19Billy81, 2026-03-02 ### **--- "Disappointing Start" I’m not sure what your experience will be by the time you’re reading this, but this is a review of what I’ve played so far: After waiting for months, I grabbed it as soon as I saw it was released. I’ve played 80s Mani Wrestling for years, so my expectations were high!! First, I’m tossed right into managing my own promotion. That’s awesome. I was looking forward to the “Territories” era for ages, so I planned to start there…but I didn’t get a choice. I was given New Generation, which isn’t too bad. They handed me a couple stars, which was nice, but I wanted to make some custom belts! That’s really limited and not at all what I wanted, but is it what it is. I played a show and it was a bit taxing to get setup at first, as the “hosts” wanted to guide me through it. I got it booked and watched a number of upsets happen. I’d really like to buy some of my favorite wrestlers, so I go to spend bronze coins on packs…and I get “shards”? After you get 50 of these for any wrestler, you are given the opportunity to invest an insane amount of in-game cash to unlock them, or they go to the CPU fed for later. I decide to just start going through shows to build up my guys, as I liked the RPG element of this. After a couple shows, I realize it’s not exactly obvious if that’s happening. The morale of my top guys is dropping because they’re getting beat by mid carders. I think it’s random who wins, with nothing accounting for for the push?? I’m frustrated and just want to start over, but I can’t until I play a whole year…so I do. Along the way I notice that there is a new coin type that isn’t able to be earned by playing, it must be platinum? You need those to pick up the special offers, where you can buy selected groups of wrestlers! That sucks, but I know Checkmate worked hard on this and needs to recover the spend. I get back to slogging through the year by setting up a faction and a tag team. I realize the venues are prohibitively expensive, as are adding new titles…but I keep going. I end the year, reboot the game and restart! I go to pick “Territories”, but it tells me I don’t have enough cards for it - but if I spend $1.99 I’ll get the minimum needed. I pull that trigger and…nothing. I’m not able to select it because it didn’t give the minimum I needed!! I’m one wrestler shy. I can’t even agree to spend another buck to get the minimum, it’s just inactive. I could go back to “Next Generation”, but I really don’t want to.
