Description

What is the eRedbook mobile app?

The eRedbook mobile app is personal child health record that has been co-designed with parents and carers. Once you have registered you'll receive NHS.UK articles that are relevant to the age of your child, or your stage of pregnancy. If you live in a connected area (ask your midwife or health visitor) you can receive copies of your child's health records. eRedbook reminds you of upcoming health reviews, screening tests and immunisations. You can record notes, track the growth of your child, and record important developmental milestones. Please give us your feedback on the eRedbook and don’t forget to tell us what other features you would like to see!

Utterly Pointless

Taff67 on

Can only connect my daughter’s NHS records if we live in London, Essex or are part of SSAFA. I suggest you get things sorted before releasing a useless app!

Useful app

Gibsy1978 on

I was signed up to this app during a health visitor weigh in session. It’s useful for logging weight and height once the child gets older and is no longer monitored by the HVs. I don’t find it particularly slow and I find it easy to log measurements and check when my child had immunisations. Improvement I’d suggest include allowing users to remove notifications on the Home Screen. The messages do have Xs in the corner and are removed when pressed, but they reappear when you log back in. I’m seeing updates from 2019 which isn’t helpful. Also, would be great if the app would send notifications when there is an update in the messages as it isn’t an app I check often. Notifications would help parents know when there is a review or immunisation required.

Does not work

The app doesn’t open at all for me having worked normally before

Unbelievably bad

Arbabninja on

Would give 0 stars if I could. I guess it is not totally unbelievable, like all other things public, this “app” is light years behind what a private sector 1 person company could produce (see examples of such apps). Currently it is not even opening on my phone. Or my wife’s. And it’s been like this for almost 3 month. Ridiculous how long it’s taking to do something about this. Even when it was working, the interface was awful and extremely unintuitive. Had to keep logging in using NHS. Like every time!! Going through the NHS connect! No option to remember your logged in for sometime. It wasn’t apparent if it is us who should enter details or clinicians. Even clinicians didn’t know. The doctor we went to said “The whole design is non-sense. Are we supposed to get the patient’s phone away from them and enter details ourselves??!!” Really can’t believe something could be this poorly made. But at the same time very believable and expected given the state of things running by the public sector (i.e. the Tories) and the NHS itself (what they did to it).

Inconsistency

The app had been working well but now is not working.

Can no longer access

Me21645 on

Was reasonably decent app while it worked, not the smoothest of interfaces, but it does what it needs to. Sadly, it’s stopped working all together, won’t open. Tried a few times to reinstall and it still crashes on opening every time.

Unusable

Richtea21 on

Can no longer open the app

Good in theory, but sadly London-centric

AngryPreggoBird on

Can’t fault the design, paper-free would be great. I’ll add what I can, where I can, but it’s a shame it states you can only currently connect children’s post-birth NHS profiles if you live in London. Be great to know when this might change?

Fantastic product

DdR2020 on

I signed up to the eRedbook and got a Health Visitor to connect me. I am so happy as now I have all of my children’s birth information and all their immunisations at the touch of a finger on my phone. I have also shared it with my husband so now he can write in it when he has the children and upload photos. When I have a remote meeting with my health visitor I can now give her access for her to be able to put professional notes in it. This has made my life so much easier. Digital is the way forward.

Don’t reccommend

Incredible slow, you can’t see your child’s vaccinations, now I can prove that my child got any..
