Mit der i-CON TRACE setzt Ersa auf eine smarte Bedienung sowohl über Smartphone-App als auch Web-Applikation, die auf einem Kundenserver installiert werden kann. Soll die i-CON TRACE wie eine herkömmliche Lötstation betrieben werden, ersetzt das Smartphone das eingebaute Display und die Anzeige der Temperatur sowie bekannte Bedienelemente für die Temperatureinstellung etc. werden auf einem Smartphone bzw. Tablet angezeigt. Dies eröffnet dem Anwender eine bedarfsgerechte, smarte Bedienung. Nutzt man die Web-Applikation "Ersa TRACE Cockpit" und die damit verbundenen umfänglichen Traceability-Funktionen, so kann mithilfe der Smartphone-App eine Lötstation in ein WLAN-Netzwerk eingebunden werden, um diese dann über die Web-Applikation zu steuern.
