Within the first 15 minutes the app had me learn “cabro” for goat. It just so happens that one of our jokes is to call each other goats. So I used cabro in conversation and my wife had no idea what I was talking about (in fact, cabro is slang for queer). Native speakers never use cabro, the masculine form of cabra, to describe goats. I’ve asked several native speakers and they’ve never even heard the word cabro. Always cabra. I feel like it’s important to get these details right, especially for new learners of the language. Otherwise, we are set off the wrong path from the beginning.
