Evernote Reviews

2024 updated review

December 2024 update The Bending Spoons takeover has made a significant difference in a really positive way. A great product is getting better. Some elements I don’t use such as Tasks as I find them way to basic, but as a note taking app and 2nd brain its by far the best out there. Previous Review At last, they realised they’re a note taking app! It’s getting better, Bending Spoons really seem to have sorted out the priorities. Note to those who moan about having to pay for things. That’s how the world works, the devs employ people with bills, if you don’t pay they don’t exist. If you get value of the product, pay for it. If you don’t, move on to something else.

Covers all my workflow

Excellent App!

Awful account closure process

Absolutely appalling account closure process. Making it incredibly difficult is not a way to keep a user. Will never use Evernote again

Sadly Evernote is getting less and less usable

I keep putting off migrating to a different platform due to the inevitable hassle involved, but sadly Evernote seems intent on pushing me in this direction. My notes (no matter how small in size) take so long to load that I always make sure I am doing something else, like reading a book, while I use Evernote, otherwise I would be wasting a colossal amount of time. Issues that were fixed months ago come back (like links going to the first note of a notebook). Worst of all, Evernote regularly turns my content into gibberish, by switching around words, and letters within words. I have been trying to tackle these issues for months but the new support system has done away with personalised support. Once you get past the supremely unhelpful AI, you are left with an automated message saying that your issue is being reviewed - which basically means you will never know how it is progressing unless a fix is magically announced. So I have given up on Evernote. I am limping along, waiting for myself to become so fed up that I finally bite the bullet and migrate.

After years of Project Books, folders, hanging files, MS office files etc ....I think someone has changed my life! For me it is not just the neat organisation of notebooks, tags etc....rather it is the ease of input from a variety of sources (web, Noteshelf, emails etc) and the ability to clip as you input. The sync across all devices is another terrific feature. I only have 2 initial gripes....1. To organise notebooks other than alphabetic. 2. The iPad app is pretty but does not give the notebook structure. Love it though !! As they say, an Elephant never forgets ;)

A long view of the software

I have been using Evernote for many years now An extremely powerful and useful piece of software! I store many items of data, info, Video, Multimedia, business cards the list is endless...with Interfaces to many things including Moleskine note books it really CAN'T be beaten as far as I'm concerned...... Really awesome!

Useful tool. Need more AI features

A longtime user of Evernote. It’s more stable and dependable with each release. I’d like to have a summary feature to prepare a TOC /contents links to the topics in the document. Also a feature to simplify by removing blank lines in the document.

Many years of happy use

Like any note taking app, Evernote has its flaws. But the thing I appreciate the most is longevity. I have tens of thousands of clipped web pages and personal docs and ideas notes stuffed away in it now, editable and searchable and accessible just like they always have been. Thanks Evernote for keeping things there, forever.
