I used to love it…

Saver 301 on

I use the app a lot for scanning business cards. Maybe I should say I quote used to“. Since I upgraded my phone to an iPhone 15, I have been unable to use the app for business cards. It simply doesn’t work. It cannot focus the card.

It’s been out of service for a long time!

Denis Bergkamp on

I really like the app, but after I upgraded to the last version, when I click the app, the black screen comes up and says: something went wrong, try again later or contact app support! And I tried to contact app support for the issue but the app support link is out of service too!

Forcing Me To Install Another App to Use

SonicBoar153566 on

I used this app consistently for the past year without any issues, to scan documents for school. However, out of no where. I’m not required to make an account. Fine. And then am forced to install the Evernote app which I haven’t needed in the past to continue using this app. Ridiculous to require people to install that now just to boost downloads because it wasn’t necessary in the past.

Now worthless

Parker (Sunshine Pumper) on

I used to use this often for school, a few times a month. I loved it. Been using it for at least six years. The tech has struggled in the last year or two and is hit or miss on detecting edges. At some point, it quit working with Evernote (or Evernote stopped working, maybe). Now it won’t let me save scans without connecting to Evernote. Took several different ways to finally login to Evernote (where it won’t let me create a new folder for scans), and now it can’t even save them there. All I want to do is save them to my camera roll, as I’ve done for six years. I loved this app, raved about it, but now it’s completely nonfunctional. And even if they fixed the Evernote part, requiring another third party app just to make this once-solo app functional is poor design. Sorry, but I’m moving on.

Changes after being taken over by Evernote ruined the app

This app was excellent until being taken over by Evernote. Now I can’t email or airdrop my scans - the only option is to download them into my Evernote account. Deleting this and using the native iOS scanning function in Files. Bye scannable!

Used to love

jess63940 on

Used for years, but they’ve killed all functionality by preventing saving your scans for free without the Evernote app

Doesn’t work anymore

MrAntonioP on

Forced me to create an evernote account and link to evernote app. Can’t scan anymore. It tells me “log in to evernote to continue” when I try to email myself a scan but the log in does nothing. Find a new app.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

To the OG programmers of this app, you have my respect! I have loved the many years I have used this app and would’ve paid a reasonable price for it. Evernote’s greed has lead me to exercise my free market rights to use another app! In a sea of free scanning apps, they are charging a subscription for this now. Crime Timeline: -Scannable is awesome -Evernote purchases Scannable -The users watch in fear. -Evernote more than DOUBLES the price of its main product out of the blue (which I have also used for years and am deeply invested in) -Evernote terms it’s Ferengi eye to Scannable. -Surprise you’re now have to pay a monthly fee to scan documents with your phone camera! -Wait! Good news! if you pay the overpriced fee for Evernote, you can use Scannable for free! Cool! ** -** here is the itty-bitty catch, you can only save to Evernote! No, you can’t save to your phone or photos or send to any other app. For that small privilege, it’s a $2.99 a month add on. I’m out! I’m already liking the replacement app I found. 🙏🏼I sincerely urge others to save your money! Do not to enable this greedy nickle and dime subscription behavior!

Used to be good

MrsIowa on

I have had the Scanable app for 7-8 years and have loved using it and recommended it to others. I scanned documents and pictures, etc Recently they have linked it with your Evernote account and it’s complete junk. It’s more difficult to send scans. Today I’m trying to use it and it can’t pick up the edges of the document, isn’t grabbing the color, and is picking up shadows. These are issues I didn’t have like this before. Seems they went backwards not forward. It’s a shame.

Stopped using it after four years

Marisa Arias on

I’ve been a loyal user of Scannable for almost four years, or since the pandemic started. It was a wonderful tool, as it helped me a lot when school turned online! Unfortunately, they changed the way the app works. Now you need to upload your documents to Evernote in order to download them. It’s become really complicated! Sad to say goodbye, but i think this is the end of my journey with Scannable
