Needs fixing

RebeccaM2017 on

The app is good if it would work properly. The bank account balances haven’t been updated in 2 days and the transactions haven’t been updated in 2 days. Rocket Money app is up to date by the minute with all the transactions and balances. Don’t know why this one isn’t. Pretty frustrating when I’m trying to do my accounting. Yes I have emailed and messaged the support desk. No answers.

Don’t Buy Premium

Slestss on

Bought premium only to discover that my bank account won’t connect. Reached out to support to be told that “ Unfortunately, bank connectivity is a "reactive" piece of the puzzle. If your bank makes any sort of security change, this can cause a disruption in connection.” Somehow bank connectivity isn’t the job of everydoller but my bank. The support article even indicates that my bank needs to reach out to finicity for bank connectivity. After informing that bank connectivity doesn’t work they advised me to switch banks to of 11,000 other options. Right now, everydoller refuses to fix the issue or give me my money back.

I was hoping to replace Mint but this is terrible

Meatshackle on

I watch the shows and listen to the podcasts so I was optimistic and more than willing to spend the money on the app. It’s very disappointing that an app we’re paying for is not nearly as good as Mint was and it Mint free. Adding and syncing accounts was smooth and easy but organizing transactions is where this app fails and it’s what 99% of users will be doing the majority of the they’re in the app. If you have a transaction that occurred in March, before you assign it to a budget category you have to make sure you’re in March’s budget. For example if you log in any time in April the app defaults to the current month’s budget as expected, so April in this case. If you're going through your transactions to assign them a category, the app will assign any transactions you assign that day to the current month’s budget regardless of the date of the transaction. So for this example, you log on April 1st and bought gas on March 31st, that transaction will default to April’s budget. This is very inconvenient for what is probably the most-used function of the app. The fix their support provides is to delete the transaction from the current month’s budget, switch over to the previous month’s budget, and reassign the transaction. If you login once a week and forget to change the month, expect to do the above steps 10-15 times every month depending on how many transactions you have each week. Please fix this.

Normally Very Good

@DanDDouglas on

A little rough with some updates and right now seems to be glitching. Only stays open for a few seconds, long enough to see what needs to be fixed before it closes infuriatingly as you’re trying to get your budget right.

Not free

Not good dont work on

Dave always says it free.. its not.

I don’t get it

Nikkismiles66 on

It seems like it only works if you stay on budget. If you don’t, then your projected budget means nothing. Your “safe to spend” means nothing. What is the point of connecting to my bank if you cannot use the information from it to adjust accordingly? There isn’t anywhere in the app where I can look and see anything in real time. Let’s say I overspend on groceries. Cool, you can see a negative -$244 in red in the groceries budget section. Does it take that information and adjust your paycheck planning? No. I don’t know what to do with the information it gives me because I feel like it isn’t helpful. What does it matter if I can see that I’ve overspent in each individual section if I cannot see how that affects my upcoming budgets? I want to know that by overspending in groceries I now don’t have enough projected income to pay my phone bill. I want to see after sorting all the transactions into their correct category how that changes my paycheck planning. It showed this month that I was at a low risk of overspending. In reality I barely have enough to pay rent. The paycheck planning shows “the me I wish I was” and not “the me I am right now”. So I can’t trust it, like at all. When I do the calculations by hand, I can see that very easily. I just take the amount in my bank account and subtract the bills and budgets coming up this month. Why is that not possible?

You can do better

An average Joe named Lewis on

The horrible lag in banking updates (days at a time) is enough on its own to make me not use app. Its almost, but not user friendly. It’s just not. Desktop, phone, iPad. I found myself frustrated many times over having to study to understand verbiage, color codes and functions. They overcomplicated things which could’ve been made simple… Compared to the app I went with, this one takes an unreasonable amount of time to understand. And I went all in updating all my numbers, bills etc. I put at least 6hrs into it. Gave it a real shot. I just didn’t like it.. The banking lag, the lack of user friendliness and the price point which is higher then what I choose to go with pushed me out… I would encourage you to try other big named apps before settling with this one.

Transaction

Snow2230 on

It takes too long for transactions to sync from our bank with the pay version. Also if we both sync in our joint account all transactions show up twice.

Good starting point

The Military Doula on

My husband and I have been using this since we first started our budgeting journey almost one year ago. It’s been a good starting point for us and fairly easy to use as we learned how to budget and not get overwhelmed. However, one thing that drives me crazy is that it doesn’t always sync our transactions in a timely manner (it can take upwards of a week sometimes) and that causes issues with staying within our budget. And because my husband and I are joint owners of our bank accounts, the app duplicates transactions which caused a lot more confusion. Thankfully we were able to figure out how to stop the transaction synchronization by turning off the toggle for the duplicated bank accounts. All in all, it’s a good starting point for those who are new to budgeting but I don’t think it good enough to continue to use long term. Monarch actually meets more of my expectations and provides way more in-depth budgeting support and higher quality.

Other apps are too cumbersome

Cathmaow on

This app is simple. That is what makes me come back. No writing rules for purchases and etc etc. you create your line item and sync the app with your debit card. Once it clears you can simply drag the purchase into the bucket and you’re done. It’s simple. It’s perfect. Please don’t over complicate a budget.
