### **--- "Great Hardware, Poorly Designed App"
I’ve been using the Sonoff app for several years, and while the devices themselves are absolutely fantastic—well-designed, reliable, and far superior in build quality to most competitors—the app has consistently fallen short of expectations.

The app’s usability is frustratingly outdated and clunky, especially when it comes to adding new devices. The process often fails, even for devices that work seamlessly on other Zigbee platforms. Many features feel incomplete or poorly implemented, and some devices either don’t pair correctly or have broken functionality within the app.

Given the quality of Sonoff’s hardware, it’s disappointing that the app doesn’t match the same high standard. My recommendation to Sonoff would be to significantly invest in improving the app’s user experience and functionality or focus exclusively on what they excel at: making great hardware.

Until then, the app feels like the weak link in an otherwise strong product offering.

I was already annoyed that I had to download and sign up for a new app just to use a Sonoff smart switch. Then I got 3 emails from them within the span of 2 minutes - hooray! 

To make matters worse, the app doesn’t “just work”. I’ve tried several times to add the Sonoff to it and it fails to detect it most of the time. The one or 2 times it has detected it, it just fails to get the device info. 

Meanwhile, I bought a non branded smart switch from eBay and was able to connect it directly via WiFi and found it within HomeKit immediately. 

I’ll be deleting this app and sending the Sonoff back but now I also have to get myself off of their mailing list.

Although this app says that it connects to SmartThings, it does not. In the SmartThings app it just constantly says the link between the two is “disconnected” no matter what I do smart things will not connect to eWeLink. Seems to show SmartThings devices, but SmartThings does not connect so the whole thing is pointless. There seems to be zero support on this issue. very disappointing app that is clunky and hard to use and does not connect to SmartThings properly.

I have a schedule set this app, but for some reason the unit does not seem to follow it.

The app is set up to switch off the Ball Lamp at 23:45hrs, but the lamp switches off at 23:00hrs for some reason.

If that can be fixed, then this app is probably a 4/5 but if the controlled devices do not follow the schedule, then this app is 2/5 max because the devices don’t work as intended with this app.

It used to be a good app before recent update and before major changes have been put in place in general outlook. Since then, it stopped working at all on ipad, it barely works on iPhone, but you need to have a lot of patience and time. It isn’t responsive, you need to make multiple tries over and over again to make it work, or repeatedly restart the system. When used to things like a water exchange in a fish tank, it is very risky, as it lead already to flooding the room. Shame. 
The app shows different settings depending on when you open it, so it happens you think your settings are working, when they actually don’t- you learn that after reopening the app some time later.
