Ho acquistato da poco tempo questo software, che mi ha risolto tantissimi problemi. La versione attuale, decisamente migliorata rispetto a quella precedente, è piena di nuove utilities. Il programma adesso integra i calcoli con tutte le formule BESSt, il calcolo delle iol toriche, eseguito con i calcoli della misura diretta della curvatura posteriore della cornea e con quelli invece ricavati della superficie anteriore basandosi sul calcolatore di Naeser e Savini. Fra le altre funzioni ci sono i calcoli del proprio SIA, i calcoli biometrici (ovvi) per occhi non operati e quelli per occhi operati di refrattiva, comprese anche le formule con il sistema del doppio K di Aramberri. E’ presente una serie di utilities come la trasposizione di curvatura dalla cornea al piano della IOL, uno strumento fotografico (EB Toric) che permette di prendere gli assi di riferimento per l’impianto di IOL toriche, e, dulcis in fundo, il programma che ti suggerisce di quanto ruotare la IOL torica che si sia ruotata fuori asse per poter risolvere l’errore refrattivo. Insomma questo programma è un vero tool multifunzioni, assolutamente indispensabile per tutti gli oculisti che si occupano di chirurgia della cataratta, che surclassa nettamente gli altri software disponibili su internet, inevitabilmente viziati da limitazioni legate per esempio all’utilizzo di una sola formula (Barrett), oppure alla mancanza di formule di confronto oltre alle datate Hoffer, SRK/T e Holladay (Alpins), oppure alla mancanza di calcolo del potere della IOL, come accade su quasi tutti i calcolatori delle aziende produttrici di IOL, che effettuano solo il calcolo del potere torico ma non quello sferico, che deve essere calcolato dal chirurgo.
