## eyeHear Description
eyeHear allows anyone with an iPhone to caption any conversation anywhere.

Press and hold iPhone's screen to caption what you or anyone else is saying in large, easy-to-read text. If speech isn't available, you can also use the keyboard to quickly type and still show large type.

eyeHear was designed to enable easier conversation for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities in situations where sign language is not available.

eyeHear is free with no in-app purchases. eyeHear uses Siri's speech recognition services to provide captioning free-of-charge to users. eyeHear respects your privacy, and doesn't keep any records of your usage, transcriptions, or audio recordings.

I have never written an app review until now. My 88 year old father passed away two days ago. During one of his many hospital stays this past year, a physical therapist on staff showed us the Eye Hear app. It was life-changing for my dad and for my family. It allowed us to have normal conversations with him, which otherwise would not have been possible. We have since shared the Eye Hear app with many doctors, nurses, and aides. It is so easy to use and opens up a world of conversation that would otherwise be lost. My 84 year old mother became a pro at using it. We are so grateful! Thank you, Eye Hear.

I am a speech language pathologist (SLP). This app has completely revolutionized how I can work with patients in the hospital who are hard of hearing & either forgot or don’t own hearing aids. Families are always so grateful when I can show them a free & easy way to communicate with their loved ones. Thank you to whoever developed this & chose to keep it free. <3

### ***** "We’d be lost without it!"
My dad had a hearing aid for his one goodbear but we still had thrall loud and repeat often.
He is 92 and had sudden loss of all of his hearing now and he has dementia, but can still read. I don’t know what we would do without this app. We saw it in action with an ENT doctor in the ER. I literally don’t know how we would be managing without this app. It’s a game changer. I think you have an opportunity to promote this wider and farther with ENTs, hearing loss clinics etc

My MIL’s father is 92 and totally deaf but sharp as a tack.  Loves to converse with the family and learn about his (very large) families lives - grand kids and great grand kids etc.  I’ve used a variety of apps and am the “tech guy” in the family but this app changed the families lives. I just got a note of gratitude out of the blue from my MIL thanking me again (we haven’t spoken in over 2 months). Well, the gratitude shouldn’t go to me - it’s really for the team who built and is supporting this app - THANK YOU!!! Granddad is in the hospital and even the doctors are so grateful to be able to communicate so easily.  Really, truly a wonderful, simple, purpose built and perfect fit tool.  Amazing example of working backwards from the customer and delivering exactly what is needed.

Can you make it so that I only have to press it once and don’t have to continue pressing in order to have continuous captions? Kind of like and on/off switch? That would be great!

Thanks!! I LOVE your app, it’s a godsend. Still learning how to use utmost effectively. Sometime I have a hard time making it start, like it doesn’t register my finger press. But so worth it that I keep trying. How can I follow you to keep up with what you’re doing?

### ****- "Love this! just a slight delay"
My only feedback is that when you first press the screen there is currently a slight delay so if you speak too soon you’ll miss the first word or two. I’ve adapted and this app is a great for day to day conversations with my mom, who speaks but is deaf.  It’s simplicity is key.  We have long been using the notes app with the dictate function and this now makes it quicker and easier to say something and get it in front of her.  

I like that you can switch to typing, which is also great if Siri gets a word wrong and you want to correct it.  

We like Ava for things like family gatherings or longer conversations, but this is spot on for using for shorter interactions.  Thanks!

### ***** "EyeHear! Here! Here!"
I’ve tried several apps for the deaf or HOH. I Just had my left ear implanted, my right one has been a few years, so I’m 100% deaf now, so no residual hearing. Of the apps I tried so I could go see a dr alone or fill out papers while someone gave me instructions (HaHa), all the apps I tried were not worth the time of day. Then a person in the Med El group I’m i, mentioned the EyeHear app, saying he was so happy with it.
THIS APP IS AWESOME!! 
That’s all I need to say. It is so easy to use and while occasional mistakes occur, they are FEW and FAR between and likely due to the speakers speech pattern or enunciation.
