EyeKid

Keep distance from you screen!

Published by: Jeroen Geurts

Description

Take care of your child’s eyes!
There is a big chance that your child is often too close to a screen when watching videos. If a child looks at a screen, the eyes will focus on a single point. The eyes get so used to this "close-range viewing", it will be getting more difficult to see something in the distance. This increases the chance of developing myopia (nearsightedness), which results in the need of glasses at a later age.
EyeKid helps you to prevent this! Your child watches his or her favorite videos within the app. Too close to the screen? Then Molly appears and asks to keep more distance. At that point, it’s not possible to continue watching the video.
What you get when you purchase EyeKid:
• Unlimited access,
• On multiple Apple-devices with "Family Sharing”,
• Full customer support,
• Cheaper than glasses!
New feature!
Set a timer to limit watching time (and avoid related discussions). After time is up, Molly appears and makes it impossible to continue watching.

*** How does EyeKid work? ***
After downloading the app:
1. You will setup the save screen distance for your child easily,
2. Thereafter you can watch popular preset channels like Youtube, or add your own favorites,
3. Enjoy watching videos in a responsible safe way!

*** FAQ ***
• What is a "healthy" distance from a screen?
Scientists advise taking an arm's length away from a screen. If this is difficult, keep at least 12 inch. This already has an effect to significantly reduce the risk of myopia.
• What's myopia?
Myopia is an abnormality of the eye that requires minus glasses to see clearly. This is because the eyeball is too long. As a result, the focal point of the light rays entering the eye falls in front of the retina instead of on it, creating a blurred image.
• Could my child bypass the EyeKid app?
Your child can of course always leave the EyeKid app and open another app. The question is whether they will do this. You can easily block other apps temporarily by setting Apple's Screen Time of your iPhone / iPad. Within the EyeKid app we describe how to do this.
